Bio

Picture a world where unflattering Facebook pictures are photoshopped onto a bevy of bodies, animals, posters and random objects. Now picture aurally stimulating comedy music spanning from R. Kelly influenced neo-soul to Blink 182 style punk parodies. You've just entered the quirky and musical world of Gordo & Friends--A world of humor and catchy, toe-tapping tunes. A place where the audience is an equal part of the experience!

Gordo & Friends got its start around a campfire gathering in California, where a 15 year-old Shon “Gordo” Gordon recollected his experience of standing in a line at a videogame store in front of a heavy set man with a far too pungent aroma. The song, aptly titled “Sweaty Guys,” was an instant campfire hit. Nine years later, his comedic music and stories have collected like dew around a frosty pint. Since moving to Boston to go to Berklee College of Music, his fresh perspective has caressed and tickled the funny bones of friends, fans and family alike.

Gordon is far from unfamiliar to the stage. As an electric bassist, he has played for thousands of people across the country and has shared the stage with The Konami Kode, Nora Aunor, Emily Greene, Parker House and Theory, Louie Bello, Forward Motion and Shannon Corey to name a few. As a composer, he has written film scores, and an album of scary electronic music titled “SHONIMUS,” which has garnered praise in the Boston underground electronic music scene.

With Gordo & Friends, you'll be wondering why you're yelling "tranquilizer gun," and why you're suddenly so intrigued by grapefruit. Jim Dunlop of Boston based cover band Plaid Daddy noted "the show was better than I (he) thought it was going to be..." if that's not convincing enough, come check it out for yourself. You'll be glad you did!
