My passion is writing lyrics. There are times when I get so consumed with a song in my head that I'll have to sit down and write it all out. I am not a great guitar player but I am striving to play well enough to present my songs to other singers who can take them much further than I ever could.

Biography

My story is still being written but the pages that have already turned tell alot about my influences and my future hopes.

My wife and I lost our first daughter (Emily) when she was 13 months old. She continues to be my biggest influence followed by my post Emily children Grace, Benjamin and Connor. Songwriting is my outlet for all the stresses of life and my personal remedy for the past.

My dream is to get some recognition for my songwriting and possibly pursue forming my own publishing/promotions company under the name "Emily's Wings".

Latest News: I am currently working on getting a few of my songs professionally demo'd. They will be posted on this site when they're completed.

Little More

VERSE 1:
When my tank is running low
And my swing is all but broke
When my fire's about to expire
And my hunger's on the rise
When my steps aren't going anywhere
And I can't get from here to there
When I can't find the map to the map
And I'm caught up in a trap

CHORUS:
You put
A little more gas in my tank
A little more swing in my swang
A little more wood on the fire
Helps to feed my desire
You put
A little more pep in my step
And I know we're not quite there yet
A little more cheer from the crew
Helps to keep my point of view

REFRAIN:
And with a little more air to breathe
And you knowing me better than me
And as long as I keep coming back to you
There's nothing I can't get the fuel to do

VERSE 2:
When my back can't hold the load
And i'm heading down a dead end road
When I'm running out of steam
Or waking from a bad dream
When my life is all upside down
And you find a way to turn it around
When the river needs more rain to flow
There's always one place I can go (for)

CHORUS

The Tractor Factor

THE TRACTOR FACTOR

VERSE 1:

Some lazy summer evenings

She'd join him on that tractor.

The ride was slow,

But the passion was much faster.

She always felt they'd always be together.

Through thick and thin and any kind of weather,

And there on the slowest form of travel,

It wouldn't take long for her to unravel...

CHORUS 1:

They were riding on,

Two big wheels and a ton of torque.

Under,

Sweet sunsets and a blanket of corn.

She lost,

More than her keys that day.

Afterwards,

They stared at the Milky Way.

All their doubts and fears didn't seem to matter.

She couldn't resist the tractor factor.

VERSE 2:

Years went by,

And she landed in the city.

A few wrinkles and grey hairs,

But her memories kept her pretty.

She dated a few city boys

But it never seemed to work out.

Their fancy cars always gave her doubts.

She missed the slow ride of a tractor,

And her mind always drifted back to her...

CHORUS 2:

Riding on,

Two big wheels and a ton of torque.

Under,

Sweet sunsets and a blanket of corn.

She lost,

More than her keys that day.

Afterwards,

They stared at the Milky Way.

And all their doubts and fears,

Didn't seem to matter.

She couldn't forget the tractor factor.

BRIDGE:

Twenty stories up,

In a building of glass and plaster,

She realized she loved him.

And the rest didn't matter.

So she stood up from her boring desk and said,

"I've got a tractor to catch, and to hell with the rest!"

CHORUS 3:

She was back riding on,

Two big wheels and a ton of torque.

Under,

Sweet sunsets and a blanket of corn.

She lost,

More than her job that day.

Afterwards,

They stared at the Milky Way.

And over the breeze,

You could hear her laughter.

Thanks to the tractor factor.

REPEAT CHORUS 3.

...She couldn't resist the tractor factor.

Muted by Circumstance

Written By: Gordon Lafo

VERSE 1:
Rusty guitar strings
Fenced in pink ponies
And unfulfilled childhood dreams
A broken radio
A tree falling in the snow
Or a river too frozen to flow

CHORUS:
Why can't I speak tonight?
I need to hold you tight
The moment just feels so right
Where are the words like
You smell so good tonight
And how about you and I dance?

REFRAIN:
Or will this be
A passing glance
If I can't speak
Another chance
Muted by circumstance

VERSE 2:
Tangled up wind chimes
Clocks that are stuck in time
Or shooting stars that never shine
A broken telephone
A winding road never roamed
Or a beating heart left alone

CHORUS/REFRAIN

VERSE 3:
A grocery cart without wheels
A widow afraid to feel
And a homeless man without a meal
He talks to his shadow
Like he's talking to the widow
While he shivers in the snow

CHORUS/REFRAIN
