Bio
'Gore Gore is a corruption of a title given to happy-go-lucky girls of a generation ago 'Go-Go Girls.' These were girls who defied convention, did what they wanted, lived the joyful life, and told critics to go to hell. Hooray for them. And hooray for their contemporary counterparts, The Gore Gore Girls. To appreciate this music, you have to have a streak of wildness, a fierce independence of spirit, and an absolute belief in the unusual, the strange, the unpredictable, the offbeat, and even the generally unacceptable.
--H. G. Lewis, producer and director of the 1972 film, The Gore Gore Girls
Gore Gore Girls are a musical meeting of the Stooges and The Ronnettes. The Gals of Gore deliver what other contemporaries cant: a powerful, girl-group sound you can rock out AND dance to. An R&B and punk rock union made in heaven! Gore Gore Girls simple, straight-forward take on hip shakin rock-n-roll numbers with low-fi sensibility makes them noteworthy and original. Influenced by equal parts Kinks, Stooges, Marvelettes and some down home dirty love, Gore Gore Girls know how to deliver caustic yet sweet pop numbers in an original girl-group style.
Gore Gore Girls 2005 is guitarist/songwriter and lead vocalist Amy Surdu, 'ghost-of-Keith Moon' Nikki Styxx on drums, charm school reject Marlene Hammerle on guitar and beauty pageant darling Jen The Deuce Pirch on bass. Four girls from Detroit with a penchant for Rock n Roll and an obsession with B-movie culture, Gore Gore Girls deliver a sensory shocking live show that has to be seen to be believed.
