Bio

There's a new sound coming. It began in a quiet suburb of Oklahoma City and has since taken residence in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona. That sound has developed into one of unbridled passion; as heard in gospel lee's uniquely custom delivery, there is a progressive sense of responsibility that is completely unashamed. This exclusive "fingerprint" delivery makes it nearly impossible to liken him to any others in his field of Rap/Hip-Hop.

This sound, and its delivery, are translated by profoundly simple lyrics that birth conscious thought in the listener and foster meaningful questions. The lyricism of gospel lee in a live context is a high-energy, expressively emotional experience that is raw, yet vulnerable without abandon. Another element that distinguishes his live show is his uncanny freestyling prowess, composing entire songs from audience-selected topics spontaneously. At its conclusion, there is nothing left on stage except sweat and broken pretenses.

2012 marked the year of gospel lee's first major release "Who I Am", an extended play record which represented a decade of labor, refinement, and birth of this new sound. This project was his introduction to the local Phoenix scene as well as announcement to those beyond and has been well received. The product of a overwhelmingly successful kickstarter campaign, the deeply introspective nature of the EP focuses on the commonalities between gospel lee and the listener and has united various age and culture demographics under the umbrella of the human experience.

It is this sound and its live expression that has allowed gospel lee to share stages with bands like Switchfoot, Hawk Nelson, Flatfoot 56, and Kutless, as well as being the opening act for Manafest on several occasions. This sound could only be described as "Quality Hip-Hop for You and Your Mom". That sound is here.
