Feeling a bit camera shy

Unequally Yoked was written over 11 years ago and began as a short 7 scene skit about a beautiful teenage church girl and her relationship with a street wise drug dealer that took her life down a wrong path. The script not well received at the time was never performed and was forgotten about for over 10 years. In February 2006 after being laid off of her job, Vanessa Lynn was inspired to "revisit" the script she wrote. Having only her memory as a guide, she typed non-stop for 2 days, and at the end of the 2 days she had a full 14 scene stage play "Unequally Yoked", which was now a totally new story with the same concept.

Things happened quickly after writing the script including casting, finding rehearsal locations and an opening day venue. However expectations were far exceeded when the play opened at the beautiful Dearborn Performing Arts Center 8/19-8/20/2006. The weekend was a huge success showing to an audience of almost 1,000 and garnering rave reviews.

In December of 2006 the play collaborated with a local film producer to make Unequally Yoked into a full length feature movie. Things moved quickly and the trailer for the movie was filmed on January 27, 2007. The project is currently seeking funding to complete production.

If that was not enough, even more exciting news came on 4/21/07 with the official soundtrack of Unequally Yoked being released entitled "The Answer" by Nation of David a group formed by the musicians and singers of the production. On the same day,"The Experience" premiered in Southfield, MI to a sold out audience. This production is a spin off of Unequally Yoked that takes a more intimate look at the characters and their lives behind closed doors.

Truly the unexpected phenomenal growth and expansion of this project shows what God can do with one simple idea. Unequally Yoked has recently received National and even International attention with patrons traveling from Canada and as far away as Georgia and New York to be in attendance. Every single show has reported great reviews, and emotions from the audiences, and there has been several testimonies of how it has touched and inspired many, and the best is absolutely yet to come!
