LET'S START WITH THE NAME...
We're not a gospel band, we're a blues band that plays all different styles of blues. On to the name. In the early 1870's, areas of the ccurrent cities Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and S. Santa Ana, CA. were known as GOSPEL SWAMP for the revival meetings that preachers held in tents for the local farmers in the swampland. The terrible draught of the late 1870's caused the water table to dry up by 75% which left the fertile swampland to be converted into valuble farmland. Our bands home town, Huntington Beach was founded in 1909 and is named after railroad pioneer and developer Henry Huntington.

We put own own touch on many of the great legendary blues songs on the masters. We're influenced by the great Robert Johnson, the legendary songs of Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker, all of the Kings (BB, Albert & Freddie), Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, SRV, Bo Diddley, Lightnin' Hopkins, Big Joe Turner, Sonny Boy and many other great bluesmen of the 20th century.
