The scandal concerning Gospodin Razborka is the first obvious manifestation of the long-awaited collision of Neudachnyi with media market institutions. No one really expected him to play the game according to market rules, or even to obey his own laws. This is why no serious players came to him with long-term plans. The only ones were speculators, equally prepared to lose a lot of money as they were to realize unprecedented profits. In a word - Russian roulette.
The first warning is the 'Bespunitsa affair'. If, at a certain point, it is perceived to be an internal razborka (shakedown) by the musical underworld, it will force media institutions to reexamine their relations with bands, especially with regards to market predictability.
No one really expected Gospodin Razborka to follow any kind of sober path, not even desperate idealists. In this context, it would be better if Neudachnyi had stuck to playing in his bedroom. Everything would then have remained at the level of a poster band, in which the group endures in name only. Now the scandal has gone public in the full meaning of the word.
