Big Minista' stands for, I stand boldly on the word of God. I was born November 5, 1968 in Lexington Kentucky. As I grew up, I was inspired to get involved with music by close relatives, and developed an appreciation for Rap & Hip Hop music by artists like Kurtis Blow, Whodini, and Run DMC etc. As a secular artist, I had the opportunities to meet and perform before industry people like Rudy Williams of Cold Chillin' records, Jive records, Rap-O-Lot, Uptown records, Notorius BIG, Adina Howard, Rappin' Forte', Volume 10, just to name a few.
Impacting on my life, was the sudden death of my wife and daughter in late 1995. Immediately, I reaffirmed my relationship with Christ. I resolved to continue my career in music, anointed by God to create this style of "Holy Hip Hop", that ministers to the total man. I have performed in the ATL at the Holy Hip Hop Award Showcase. I have performed before Dawkins & Dawkins, Luther Barnes, Christopher "Play" Martin, L.G. Wise, Antonious, Lisa Paige Brooks just to name a few.
Currently, I'm recording new material, and I'm an active member of Greater New Hope of Lexington Kentucky, under the leadership of Pastor James and Gloria Smith.
