Bio

Got Blue Balls is a Slovak rock band from Sliac town, formed in 2009. The band's line-up has always included founding members Michal Minar (lead vocals, guitar), Juraj Oravec (guitar, backing vocals), Stanka Apfelova (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Richard Mikus (drums, percussion) with the current line-up including a longtime friend/member Boris Stefanik (keyboards, backing vocals, percussion).

Their music has been said to be influenced diversely by Rock'n'roll, Punk, Blues and Hardcore, and their earlier work is noted for its strong influence from American Stoner rock bands. They have released one studio album.

Formation, first singel (2009 - 2010)

The band formed in November 2009 after all the founding members, who had all been a part of several local and separately defunct bands, had decided to come together and form a new band called "Got Blue Balls". In the months following their formation Got Blue Balls signed to PJ records. The band released their first single "Devil in Bed" on 21th of September 2010. Devil In bed has been nominated for the single of the year at the "Radio head awards 2011".

The band has got quite known in the Slovak and Czech underground scene and supported bands like the legendary punk band The Casualties(US), Ezra Furman and the harpoones (US), Slobodna Europa (SK) and Lavagance (SK).

Debut album and the tour (2011 - Present)

Got Blue Balls recorded their debut album in Badin, Slovakia with Miroslav Spevak. They released their selftitled album "Got Blue Balls" on 23th of June 2011. The Band decided to release the album (DIY) without any record label.
Four singles total were released from the album including: "Devil in Bed", "Wouldn't you say that I'm on fire", "Heart of a Rocknrolla" and "Move on", with pomotional live videos included for each of the songs. In the immediate promotion of the album the band started their festival Tour, playing some of the biggest festivals in the central Europe: Pohoda Festival and Rock For People festival. In october, the band went for another festival and club tour over Slovak Republic and joined The Shifoomies band (FR) on their tour over France.

The band is now working on new material.
