Government Cheaze is a rare band that demolishes genre and cultural boundaries and achieves a sound that embraces all. “This band had to be, and is, not only proficient in the hip-hop genre but funk, and rock as well,” says Kameelah. “I wanted Government Cheaze to be a collage of sounds as my musical tastes are quite eclectic.” Just as everyone remembers the first time they strolled into an arena, stadium, outdoor festival or gym to catch one of their favorite artists or bands live and in the flesh, viewing a Government Cheaze live performance is equally memorable. So much so that they were asked to perform at the Black Lily Film Festival in 2008 sharing the stage with Bahamadia, J*Davey, Ladybug (Digable Planets), Lizz Wright and others and they also were tapped for the Roots Picnic Show in the summer of 2008 sharing the stage with the Roots, Cool Kids, Gnarles Barkley, and others.
