Goy Boy McIlroy. Just crazily good. They're from Darlington, they've got fantastic songs and they're brilliant at the working class hero, 'us against them' sloganeering that the Manics used to do, albeit with sexy leather Jackets and a snarl, rather than eyeliner and a feather boas. - NARC Magazine
"I foresee success for this band once they fully realise their own style and get their songs heard by the right people."

Bio
Goy Boy McIlroy are four lads from Darlington at the back end of their twenties that should know better, but yet are so deluded by a false feeling of grandure that they brush forward their thinning hair, suck in their guts and continue being one of the regions most exciting alt blues bands.
Modern, yet retro sounding (think The Doors starting a post-punk revival whilst taking Steroids) these self depricating, avant-garde and edgy bunch of scamps have songs that are as bleak and aggressive as the north east, but with a whiff of the Mississippi Delta. Live they are awkward and energetic, but still enticing to watch like your dad dancing at your sisters wedding.
To be uncomprimising and oblivious to the 'what's hot, what's not' world of rock music can be seen as a negative in this day and age, but if the guitar band is really dead then why shouldn't they dance on it's grave?
