BandHip HopR&B

I have clearly set myself apart from the crowd by combining catchy and profound lyrics with unprecedented topics. Being influenced by Jay Z, LL Cool J, & many other artists, I have developed a style of my own. If you are ready for music that is innovative and ground-breaking, look no further!!

Biography

The first thing that differentiates me from other rappers is that I'm from the Suburbs...not the ghetto or inner city. If you're looking for a "rags to riches" story, or a story full of death, despair, and jail time this isn't it. My experiences as a black man being brought up in a mostly white suburban neighborhood has greatly influenced what i talk about in my music. I do not rap about drugs, violence, or struggle from that standpoint; however, my flow is edgy, rough, catchy, and very musical. My topics range from racism to relationships, activism, partying, innovative/creative storytelling, and a hard-hitting display of lyrical skill. My album title "Death of a Salesman" comes from more than my love for theater. It's literally the death of this Wall-Street or JP Morgan employee persona that I have and the birth of the hip-hop & musical infused "GQ" that I created. My music can relate to the world...not just the block...not just the burbs or the clubs, but the people in Dublin, Tokyo, California, and even Australia. I want to give my fans unprecedented performances and music that's catchy, exciting, and fresh. I want to give them GQ.

So Cold

Written By: GQ (Gerrard James)

Hook:

I never knew that you could be so cold/ and I don’t wanna wait because it takes two to grow/ and there’s a lotta hate a little late for us to sow/ any wounds that are left so it is best we fold/ so…I gave my heart away, but girl I need it back now/ I gave my heart away, but girl I need it back now/ I gave my heart away, but girl I need it back now/ I gave my heart away, but I’ma take it back now/

Verse1:

I remember girl the first day I met you/ special/ impress you/ with the best moves/ was the plan/ but on the other hand/ knew, that I had a girl, and you might have a man/ so I gave it up, for a minute/ and my luck, had me in it/ thinkin’ she is just a freshman/ she’s destined/ to party drink every week/ and be a freak in the sheets/ thought that I had learned my lesson/ I’m stressin’/ so I counted to 10 and I confess then/ that I started to bend and maybe break them/ rules that I set/ fools only let/ conquest get in the way of their own conscience/ I promised, I wouldn’t do this again/ but here I go again I’m doin’ it I knew I would win/ her seven digits if I didn’t try to get it like them/ and being me was the key I wish I knew that then/

Verse 2:

We had relationships, both were significant/ mine wasn’t I decided to get rid of it/ you didn’t that’s a little inconsiderate/ but I was arrogant and plus I was hittin’ it/ you were a virgin and so you fell fast/ and for certain your hurtin cuz the things of the past/ so I stressed and I pressed you to check in the bags/ when we met but you let it progress and to last/ fast forward a year and 2 months/ and you’ve got 2 people who love, but do front/ who tell truths with a little bit of lies/ problem is which percentages start to rise/ I/ never cheated/ but you did I was heated/ and you hid, every secret/ like a kid tryin’ to keep it/ I never really healed or recovered, I repeated/ every other moment like that / and I took you right back/

Verse 3:

I’m over it I thought you were too you/ said the last few months hasn’t been true/ the boyfriend you had, the man you wanted him to be/ was me, but he wasn’t so you had to leave/ and on the phone you’re sayin’ baby come home/ I wanna try screw the lies I am dyin’ alone/ I know your girl means the world, but I mean more than that/ you gotta love me and trust me you must take me back/ and I laughed/ I love my girl to death/ I would never leave her we burned there’s nothing left/ between you and me/ this dream seems new to me/ I mean we met our end/ then you talk about my friend/ you really like him, your night is so bright when/ your next to him sexin’ him being is wife in/ the bed he’s the best you ever had in your life/ called my boy to prove you wrong, but instead he proved you right/

Hook (x2):

I never knew that you could be so cold/ and I don’t wanna wait because it takes two to grow/ and there’s a lotta hate a little late for us to sow/ any wounds that are left so it is best we fold/ so…I gave my heart away, but girl I need it back now/ I gave my heart away, but girl I need it back now/ I gave my heart away, but girl I need it back now/ I gave my heart away, but I’ma take it back now/
