Bio

These songs suggest a sensual simplicity. Meditative, inspirational, and reflective, they transform seemingly simple content into sounds that audiences can easily listen and relate to. Influences include Natacha Atlas, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Catpower, Dido, Chris Isaak, Goldfrapp, Fleetwood Mac, Air, and Mazzy Star.

In 1995, singer-songwriter Krista Lewandowski lived a half hour outside of Milwaukee in the birthplace of Les Paul; that is, Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she attended high school where The BoDeans and Olympic Hamm brothers attended school. Her sophomore year of school, she bought her first electric-acoustic guitar during a time of rather boring mononucleosis. To this day, friends fondly remember her blue guitar. Krista began teaching herself to play with the assistance of some rather musical peers.

Her first week at UW-Green Bay she won the freshman talent showcase after playing an original song, and after her first year there she packed her bags to complete her Secondary English Education degree in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she frequented poetry nights, and acoustic open mics, and played shows at Linnemans Riverwest Inn, Tai Joe's, the MIAD union, Rory's/ReJos, Riverwest Commons, the Miramar Theatre, and Bremen Cafe. In 2004 Krista was ready for a bigger fish bowl, and relocated to Cicero, Illinois, right outside of Chicago, and briefly hosted a monthly acoustic night at Chicagos RedEyes Coffee. She played shows at Phyllis Musical Inn, Bernice's Tavern, Lilly's, and The Heartland Cafe in Chicago under the name KristaAcoustic. She then began an open mic in the basement of a church in Cicero, and began singing with the Berwyn-based children's band Istvan and His Imaginary Band, performing in Chicago at the Beat Kitchen and Chicagoland suburban parties and festivals. Two albums were completed during her stay with the band, where you can hear her back up vocals - The Things I Like Kids E.P. and Sweet!

Krista is currently putting together a new band, and is rehearsing for a new set of shows and recordings.

Her sound has been likened to Mazzy Star, Stevie Nicks, and Shirley Manson from Garbage, her strengths lie in her vocals, lyrics, and songwriting, and genres include rock, hard rock, acoustic, acoustic-rock, folk, folk-rock, folk-pop, blues, and down-temp.  Krista's music has appeared in independent filmmaker Bugsy X's (of XFacta Films) film, Crazy N Love.
