Biography

Grace Angel Band was formed when three talented musicians who love gospel music came together to play music at their local church and the prison church ministry in Central California. The successful response to their blended harmonies and style of acoustic music led to recording of their new CD, "Top of the Mountain."

Tracy Barns (guitar and vocals) and Maria Weir Werth (bass and vocals) are sisters and have been making music together since growing up in a musical family. They began her musical careers performing with their brothers and sisters in a 9-piece family band called “The Weirz”. The band toured throughout the United States and Canada, and also backed up younger brother, Michael Damian, “Rock On Tour”. In the 90’s, Maria teamed up with sister, Tracy (a Nashville award winning performer), playing the Palomino, Buck Owens Crystal Palace and other venues to showcase their original tunes.

Tracy & Maria continue to write, record and perform around the Central and Southern California area together and also with other musical groups. They work together with Tommy Hays and the Western Swingsters and produced his CD as well as Jimmy Phillips new gospel CD, “Pray Every Day.”

This year with the addition of Jerry Mulkins, they formed the Grace Angel Band and recorded their first CD called, “Top of the Mountain.” The CD has a selection of original tunes and traditional gospel songs with a great acoustic harmonic blend of talent.

Jerry Mulkins is a great acoustic, blues and country guitarist and has been playing for more than forty-five years. He has performed with Lisa Bowman at the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield for many years and is the lead guitarist and composer for a group called, “Blue Mustard.”

Lyrics

Top of the Mountain

Written By: Maria Weir Werth

When I get to the top of this mountain
That’s when I know I’ll be home
It’s a long hard crawl
Oh, Lord don’t let me fall
Oh, Jesus, take me home

There’s a man who is painting his mountain
For the honor and glory of the Lord
He’ll take no money for his deed
And it’s paint that’s all he’ll need
Oh Jesus will take him home.

When she gets to the top of that mountain
With not a breath to carry on
The Angels will come
And lift her on her way
Oh, Jesus take her home.

When He got to the top of that mountain
That’s when he knew he’d be home
It was a long hard crawl - Three Times he did fall
Oh Jesus take us home.

Life is Precious

Written By: Tracy Barns, Tracy Salas & Maria Weir Werth

Let us give a voice to the voiceless
And hope for all that are oppressed
Extend our hearts, our hands and our voices

‘Cause Life is precious - Life is precious - Life is precious to me.

In this world there is so much confusion
We can’t see the truth to believe
Our heart is screaming for redemption

That life is precious, All life is precious, Life is precious to me.

We are made in God’s image
And yearning to be free
May our lives be a blessing
A prefect masterpiece

Let us give a voice to the voiceless
And hope for all that are oppressed
Extend our hearts, our hands and our voices
‘Cause Life is precious - Life is precious - Life is precious to me.

When Our Savior Comes

Written By: Tracy Barns

The waiting, anticipation
That day of great joy
World peace, and our salvation
When hatred will be destroyed.

When Our Savior Comes
When He calls out our name
Will we run and hide our face
When He calls out my name.

It’s the light of God’s inspiration
Brings hope in the darkest night
Prepare the way
All ye nations
Soon our Savior reigns

When Our Savior comes
When He calls out our name
Will we run and hide our face
When He calls out our name.

Come to Me

Written By: Tracy Barns

Come to me all ye that are burdened
And I will give you rest.

Come to me all ye that are burdened
And I will give you rest.

Seek me and you will find the answer
Knock and my heart will open wide

Come to me all ye that are burdened
And I will give you rest.

Come to me all ye that are burdened
And I will give you rest.

My sheep they all know my voice
And I would never leave them a stray

Come to me all ye that are burdened
And I will give you rest.

Come to me all ye that are burdened
And I will give you rest.

Nothing is too heavy for my arms
For my mercy is endless indeed

Come to me all ye that are burdened
And I will give you rest.

Come to me all ye that are burdened
And I will give you rest.
