Bio

Grace Emilys have won a growing reputation on the thriving Dundee music scene, sounding unlike any other band in the area and received praise for pushing boundaries with their ambitious musical palette and beautifully crafted songs. The band, consisting of Neal Monaghan (Vocals & Guitar), Sean Kennedy (Vocals & Guitar), Andrew Kennedy (Bass & Vocals) and Euan Wright (Drums) call themselves a pop band, with their own brand of art-pop crossing musical boundaries and styles often within the space of a single song.
Having received airplay from Radio 1 and XFM the band have also been touring playing some great UK gigs including Club NMEs and BMI’s best bands for 2008. This summer saw Grace Emilys play NXNE festival in Toronto, Canada. This was a busy week for the band with press and radio interviews before their busy showcase at Neutral. Since returning the interest has not stopped having received invitations to play some of the UKs biggest festivals including T in the Park and Connect. Their T in the Park performance saw them fill the 1200 capacity tent and members of the audience included live booking agents from ITB, Helter Skelter, CAA UK, The Agency and Coda; as well as world renowned artists from The Pogues and The View.
The band released their second single “Lipstick Blues” on Euphonios (a fledgling Scottish label) which was distributed physically through Universal in the UK and digitally all over the World through InGrooves. The single was supported by a month long UK tour culminating in 2 shows in London. The band have won praise from press and radio alike but the band thrive on their live performances and have fans in some of the biggest booking agencies including Livenation, SJM and DF Concerts. The band have also just been invited to perform at CMJ Music Marathon in New York in October.

Grace Emilys recently got invited to record six live tracks at Popmorphic film centre with a live audience the result of which will be available to view on the band's myspace from Friday 17th October.

The band hope that their second single will bring them even more recognition than their first and their plans for 2009 include increasing their ever growing UK fanbase and breaking further into International markets, focusing on North America and Asia. They also complete a Scandinavian tour in early March after being invited over to play some gigs. They also hope to increase their digital sales in international markets as it they have already sold well in the US, Canada and Japan. There has been a lot of interest from agents and labels in America and we hope to go over to showcase new tracks and to gain some other members of a team including a live booking agent. The band go into the studio from October 2008 to record their debut album that will be available for licence from February 2009.
