"Gonna Dig This Graham Knox Frazier review by justintime"

Gonna Dig This
Graham Knox Frazier
review by justintime

Gonna Dig This is the latest from Graham Knox Frazier. This is pure, straight up House music. Not over powering, the tracks are smooth with solid beats and have a coctail lounge feel to them. Uncomplicated, what you hear is what you get. Grab a cocktail and mingle before hitting the dance floor.

Graham Knox Frazier’s latest is titled Moments Of Zen. Similar to his previous album, Gonna Dig This, the music has a Deep House sound. The beats are steady and smooth and you can get a good groove on right away without working up too much of a sweat. The sound is pure and unadulterated giving you the essence of Deep House. Sit back and enjoy or hit the dance floor.

The latest from Graham Knox Frazier is titled House Instrumentals. As the title suggests, these tracks are instrumental Techno/Deep House tracks with a pretty straight forward sound. Hit the club and head to the dance floor.

The Big Chill

so I’m convinced that Graham Knox Frazier is a robot, an unstoppable music making machine. His latest, The Big Chill, is his fourth full length album in under a year. His titles usually give a hint at the music-Moments Of Zen, House Instrumentals, and this album is no different. Here we still have a House sound but it is toned way down with a Lounge and Trip Hop vibe taking dominance on this album. You also have hints of Hip Hop and Jazz sprinkled throughout the album. Frazier’s albums aren’t going to blow you away but they are solid start to finish and this one (which I think is one of his best) has shown his ability to grow and evolve as a musician. Definitely check this one out!

The latest from Graham Knox Frazier is a remix disc of his recent release The Big Chill. The remixes range from Latin Downtempo to Disco, Glitch, Electro Hop and Big Beat. These remixes are well done, they actually remix the tracks rather than just add a new beat or some little tweak. Check them out.

"House Instrumentals II Graham Knox Frazier review by justintime Saturday, August 18th, 2012"

House Instrumentals II

The dynamo of techno (Deep House actually) Graham Knox Frazier has returned, this time with House Instrumentals II. This is Frazier’s fifth album in just over a year and it seems like he’s becoming the Peter Namlook of House music. As with House Instrumentals I, the title explains it all. Super hot, Deep House cuts that are upbeat and sexy, with none of the rough, jagged, glitchy-ness that seems to be more and more prevalent these days. If you are looking for some House music that is sophisticated and cosmopolitan, elegant yet still has a booty shakin’ beat, then check out this album. - Justintime

Simply Deep Music The Big Chill II Graham Knox Frazier review by justintime

"Graham Knox Frazier has returned (and returned and returned) with his latest The Big Chill II. This is Frazier’s sixth album in just under two years and I’m waiting for him to run out of gas but that has yet to happen. His music is usually straight forward House music but this album has many more influences including Lounge, Downtempo, Disco, Jazz and Hip Hop. As the title implies, these aren’t blistering Dance tracks but have a mellower, funky feel to them. The music isn’t breaking any new ground but the tracks are so solid that you can’t go wrong spinning them at your next party or at the club. RIYD: DJ Frane Tracks: 1,3,4,5,6,8,11," - Justintime

Bio

Graham Knox Frazier has been a House music producer since 1996, when he was signed to TNT Records by Todd Terry. Remaining an underground producer until 2011, he has released 3 top 10 albums on CMJ RPM charts over the last two years, plus 3 TOP 12 albums, and one TOP 40 for the year 2012. He grew up surrounded by New York City's club and music scene and learned how to produce electronic music by watching Mateo & Matos do their thing. He fell in love with the sounds of Afrika Bambaattaa at The ROXY, all of the incredible music acts that performed there like LL Cool J, The Fat Boys, Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five and you can't forget Rock Steady Crew, tearing up the dance floor. At an early age he was hooked on soul, hip hop, disco and dance music.

By age 12 he bought his first pair of Technics belt drive turntables and the record collecting began, that was back in 1981. It was a great year to start buying vinyl. In 1985 he found his love of mixing hip hop and dance music and stepped it up to mixing with Technics 1200's turntables that he still has today.

Moving back to NYC after college, he was a DJ for fashion designers doing music for runway shows at Bryant Park. He also played private parties and at select clubs in Manhattan like Tattoo, The Supper Club, Doubles and private parties at The Hayden Planataruim. Nightlife in NYC in the 80's and 90's was amazing, and he spent many nights at Paladium, The Saint, The World, Danceateria, Area, Limelight, The Tunnel, Webster Hall and so many others clubs, getting lost in the music and clubbing 'til dawn.

In 1991 he met John'Roc'Mateo of Mateo and Matos. One day he went down to John's studio in the L.E.S. where he heard the magic of samples coming out of a keyboard, for the first time in his life. This was the huge moment. From this point on he was hooked and has spent the last 22 years producing house and electronic music.

He was signed by Todd Terry on TNT records in 1996 but life had other plans for Graham. In 1995 he stopped doing fashion shows and had a career change. He began an apprenticeship for EvenTime, a TV Commercial post production house where he learned the art of editing TV commercials with Avid computers. Not liking the commercial industry much, but really enjoying editing, he began to work at SONY music on inhouse video projects. This opened the door to MTV where he received his first Emmy nomination and Emmy Award for a project featuring Brittany Spears. While working at MTV, he received an invitation to edit video for The Daily Show where he has received two more Emmy nominations.

He currently works for The Daily Show and continues to produce music at night. He is now ready to take his sound to the world through live performances and DJing. Stay tuned...
