The Graham Scobie Band has just released a new CD, Granite Town, at the 2009 Gympie Muster in Queensland, Australia. The album comprises 12 songs of which 6 were written by Graham Scobie, 4 by Michelle Scobie and 2 were jointly written by Graham and Michelle. The music is most easily categorized as Australian country music and contains themes as varied as love, redback spiders and possums. The style ranges from folk to country to rock. Influences include the great Australian storytellers such as Slim Dusty, John Williamson, Banjo Paterson, Henry Lawson, Paul Kelly and Neil Murray.
