"AudioCRAVE Press Release"

February 17, 2007

Pomona, CA – Starting the year off with a bang, M1 Autosport sponsored a massive event that took over buildings 4, 5 and 6 of the Pomona Fairplex. In each of the huge warehouse-like rooms, there were cars and models everywhere. One room wholly supplied with supped-up vehicles and the hottest car models; one room complete with cars, models and the most-known B-Boys and B-Girls battling it out; the last room supporting the main stage for a 12-hour live concert, only breaking the musical acts to include a fashion show, bikini contest and constant free-giveaways.

The Hip Hop group Grand Angel consists of two members: “Grand Noble” the MC and “Archangel” the main producer. Both residing from Richmond, Calif., they have endured the hardships that encompass East Bay Area life and survived. Before linking up to become Grand Angel, the two already had extensive history working together in performance, as they were introduced to each other onstage for numerous plays via theatre in Middle School and throughout High School. This eventually led them to move down to Los Angeles to pursue their music and acting careers. By combining the raw and out-of-the-ordinary talent of Archangel’s music writing with Grand Noble’s refined lyrics and “underground” flow, the duo was destined to get noticed.

Grand Angel kicked off the live AudioCRAVE concert around Noon, with a twenty-minute set, that included their single “Gas Skillz” in ode to AutoCRAVE and sideshows. Performing more songs from their Guardians of The Bay, vol. 1 mixtape, Grand Angel brought “Mic’forigadale” and “Y’all Don’t Know” to the stage before debuting Grand Angel’s latest banger “The Bay.” Touting such lines as: "The Bay is my heart, born and raised – How the Bay slang game is the norm all day." Later in the event, more than a few well-known acts hit the stage; including Binary Star, Chapter 11, LA Symphony, The Shape Shifters and the Visionaries, each bringing their own dedicated fan base to the crowd. Afterwards, the headliners Dilated Peoples stole everybody’s attention, performing for over an hour. Defari even made a widely-enjoyed appearance as Dilated ran through a constant barrage of underground hits from their four-album discography. After Midnight, with the concert finished, artists were showing their fans love until the crowd dispersed around 1am, leaving the Fairplex crew to clean up after the event that shook Pomona for twelve straight hours. - Pomona Fairplex - Pomona, CA
