Grant Gardner

Groove-based jazz, drawing on influences from 20th-century classical music and blues. Similar to John Scofield, Pat Metheny, and Robben Ford.

Guitarist Grant Gardner is emerging as one of the more original voices on the New York scene. Grant's music is firmly rooted in the jazz tradition, but draws on influences from 20th-century classical music, blues, and Americana. Grant has performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center, and most recently, the Blue Note. After studying at Beklee College of Music with guitar gurus Mick Goodrick, Tim Miller, and Wayne Krantz, Grant relocated to the New York area. He recently completed a Master's degree in Jazz Studies at Rutgers University, studying with one of his all-time heroes, Vic Juris. Grant performs regularly in solo settings and with his trio.
