The Grasshoppers

The Grasshoppers

BandR&BFunk

Psychedelic rock meets funk and reggae. Not afraid to experiment musically, and always pushing the boundaries. Crowd intuitive, and able to get everyone pumped up. Always a good time. Playing for all the "grasshoppas" of the world! 8-)

Biography

The Grasshoppers are still new to the scene only being about a year old. We are lucky to have gone so far so fast from playing the 10,000 Lakes Festival in '07 to many high credited venues all over the Midwest. We have established a strong audience showing in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, and even as far as Dubuque, IA. The "word of mouth" has traveled quickly about the Grasshoppers. What's the word? "WOW."

The Grasshoppers come from a long line of influences. From musicians, artists, scientists, nature, life experience, etc. Some key figures that come to mind in regards to musical influences are as follows: The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Phish, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Traffic, Stevie Wonder, etc. All of these artists seem to be somewhat prevelant in the Grasshoppers playing style. A good balance between influence and our own sense of direction.
