"A lil' Fredericton Action"

Taken from http://epicadesign.blogspot.com/2009/07/lil-fredericton-action.html

Last monday, me and a few friend of mine (Frank, Mr. Cool and Chantal) went up to Fredericton to see an awesome show. Before the show we went to TreeGo, which is pretty much tree climbing the safe way. Anyway for those of you that did zip lining before, that was considered, in my non-expertise opinion, an easy course. I did the one in Moncton before (last year) and it was more challenging. But hey, in good company everything can be cool. The scenery was pretty awesome and we had a good laugh.

Anyway, after we were done the course we were on our way to one of the best bar show I have ever experience. Three bands were playing that night. The first act was a local band called Gravel Chewer. Wow, what a voice. Good stage presence, awesome band, can't wait to see more. But I was not expecting what I saw next. First, Reanimators, band from Montreal, came on stage. Talk about stage presence. Incredible sound (Yay for the sound lady!!). Next it was Aggressor, a band from Ottawa. They were having so much fun on stage, made me wanna start my own band. Bahahaha! I do not have the right words to explain how awesome it was. Conclusion = a successful night! I unfortunately forgot my camera (what a shame I know) and do not have pics for you. But, If you ever have the chance to see any of them...TAKE IT!!

Bio

Gravel Chewer was formed by Bruce LeGrow, Gregg O'Donnell and Jonathan 'twothumbs' Malley roughly around July of 2008. Although the band is relatively new, the material has been in the works for year by the 2 guitarists. When twothumbs joined in the fold and the band was created, these songs began to take life.

In May of 2009, Gravel Chewer also welcomed the very talented 6 String bass virtuoso PJ Jacques into the fold.

While can be openly categorized as Metal, Gravel Chewer implements it's own unique twist of the genre. The guitars often take on a point-counterpoint style often used in old video games (an influence of Gregg O'Donnell who hosts an instructional show on video game music at www.thegameheroes.com), however maintains an aggressive, heavy powerful sound.

The rhythmic sensibilities of Bruce LeGrows swift right hand on guitar and the percussive abilities of Jonathan, as well as the unique wide ranged bass sound of PJ make this band a force to be reckoned with.
