Bio

Leah Hinchcliff is widely recognized as one of the Northwest's premier bassists. She is a first call studio musician and has recorded with the Northwest's top artists including Swamp Mama Johnson, Nicole Campbell, Mark Bosnian & Soul Vaccination. Leah has backed up rock and roll legend Bo Diddley as well as emerging national artist Tracy Grammer. When he isn't on stage or writing and recording, Andrew Maldarelli can be found teaching 1st grade. He has shared the stage with Rosemary Clooney, The Manhattan Transfer, and Kenny Burrell. His voice can be heard on Oregon Catholic Press recordings. Leah and Andrew first met in the Portland based zydeco funk band, Voodoo BBQ. From there, they branched out with this intimate duo. They are both influenced by the songwriting of John Prine, Lucinda Williams, and The Funky Meters.

Acoustic funk, jazz & fusion, country & swing, washboard infused rhythms, two part vocal harmony....all a part of what sets Gravy aside from the rest.
