(Billboard Publicity Wire/Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWeb ) August 6, 2007 -- The long awaited and anticipated worldwide release of the debut CD from Grayscale, is on August 21 and has revealed an upbeat sound featuring a new delicate touch; a mixture of captivating melodies and heartfelt lyrics. With their transition to Sunset Records, the band's major indie record label debut, there will be five singles available to Top forty and Adult contemporary radio formats.

Grayscale's intangible style is shared with no other band, having created a colorful, distinctive and unparalleled sound with their album, That Flawless Flashing Day. Through a myriad of songs, the band has transcended an unequivocal presence in pop music. Grayscale front man Douglas Dunbar composed the debut CD with William Weaver. That Flawless Flashing Day includes a track listing of 13 songs that flow coherently from melodic songs to ballads to resilient yet solemn love songs.

The album opens with the salient and superlative track "TMI." Other songs such as "One More Day" and "Stuck On Me" are lyrically intimate and melodically driven tracks, Doug pleads with heart-wrenching sincerity at every hook and verse. "So Credulous I'm Blind" is the wonderful ballad that has some of the most accessible lyrics on the CD. "Any Girl Will Do," Grayscale's first single off the new record, is another vivid track, infectious and enticing followed by "Deep White," which show off the beautifully strong vocals. Many of the tracks on this CD proclaim the feelings of an unwavering love between two people.

Other spectacular and enlightening tracks from That Flawless Flashing Day include "Out In Cold," "A Summer Washed Away," and "A Matter Of Time."

Grayscale seems to be delving into great musical territory with this debut CD. Timeless, catchy yet versatile, this band has reached an amazing plateau, leaving only ever-rising greatness in their wake.

Sunset Records, Grayscales record label, is getting ready for a big push beginning this summer. Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records says that he "cannot be more proud of our A&R system. "Sunset opened its doors two years ago on its anniversary date of August 6th and in that time, we have two artists on the Grammy Awards nomination ballot for Best New Artist."

Grayscale is on the nomination ballot for the 50th Grammy Award show for Best New Artist as well as for Best Duo or Pop Group with Vocals, Best Alternative Music Album and Best Traditional Pop Album. For fans of The Killers and of Blink 182, this is the perfect CD.

Bio

The Grayscale story begins with Douglas Dunbar finding William Weaver through the murky soup of the Internet, discovering that both the songwriting musicians shared not only the same geography of Cleveland, Ohio, but a passion for alternative pop as well. They also found that they shared influences ranging from Cold Play, to Snow Patrol, to The Cure. They began collaborating and formed Grayscale in early 2005. They rapidly assembled a catalog of alternapop gems that would become their debut album, That Flawless Flashing Day. Effortlessly fusing American folk with Britpop, their combined talents generate music that impressionistically explores the lush and beautiful landscape of human emotions.

Douglas Dunbar hails from Los Angeles where he began in the 90s as a singer/songwriter solo artist, recording and performing his compositions in the live showcase circuit in Hollywood and the Sunset Strip. Douglas recorded and performed with the support of veteran musicians including keyboardist Bruce Lowe (Stevie Wonder/Kenny Loggins/Elton John) and drummer Chet McCracken (The Doobie Brothers/Stevie Nicks/Kim Carnes). Destiny brought him to Cleveland where he was eventually able to hook-up with William Weaver who had the perfect compliment of talents that enabled them to craft the musical alchemy that is Grayscale.

Prior to meeting up with Douglas, William Weaver also spent time on the West Coast and was trained in film and television production. He has worked professionally in the visual and audio media, writing music for Indie movie scores, radio and television commercials, Spanish television programs, music libraries, and independent record releases. In addition to his independent instrumental project Ruah, William has written and performed with a several musical groups, including Garden of Dreams (Seraph Records), and The Firmary (Approaching Storm Records), as well as producing two stand-out tracks for up-and-coming Asian-fusion pop artist Aasha.

Shortly after its completion in August 2006, TFFD was signed by Angel Alamo and Don Lichterman of Alamo Records/Sunset Records Group (www.alamo-records.com, www.sunsetholding.com) and released worldwide by them on May 20th, 2007. Their music is in rotation on WDYN Radio (100.1FM Rochester, NY, www.wdyn.net, worldwide), iChannel Internet Radio (www.ichannelmusic.com), Brainwave Radio/Indie Artist Radio (www.brainwaveradio.com), among many others.
