Bio

GreatGottaGetIt is an American Hip-Hop recording artist from Birmingham, Alabama. His debut album "Heir Apparent" was released in the year 2015 under independent record label Generational Royalty. The album includes hits "Boss Up", "I Love Being Me", "Dash For Cash" and "All I Wanna Do".

Great was born on Sunday, July 14th, 1991 to musically inclined parents, who were both stand out members of their high school's band. By the age of 8, he started tapping in his musical talent by learning to play the violin. That same year, 8 year old GreatGottaGetIt was invited to play in an orchestra style concert held at the Alabama School Of Fine Arts (A school for talented kids located in Birmingham, AL).

As time continued, his love for music constantly grew, pushing him to join his middle school band, where he became the section leader of the percussion almost immediately. But, at that time rapping was really just a hobby and not his main focus at all, playing basketball was more important. It wasn't until the age of 16, that Great would fall in love with the art of Emceeing, while recording his first written rap at a high school basketball teammate's house. Still, basketball would remain his main focus, and writing raps was still a hobby. It wasn't until graduating high school, with no athletic offers, that he would put more focus into the hundreds of poems and raps that he had written.

GreatGottaGetIt would spend the next few years mastering his craft, and with money he and his brother saved up, purchase studio equipment to start recording his own music. After dropping his debut mixtape, Gotta Get It, on datpif.com, he then started working on what would become his debut album, Heir Apparent. He and his brother collectively started the independent record company, Generational Royalty, and the label released his debut album in 2015.

On his quest for "greatness", Great has learned the art of production and he is in currently in the studio working with a number of up and coming artists in and around the Atlanta, Ga area.
