Biography

FANTASY IS MADE INTO REALITY with European Recording Artists Milla Sunde and Marlow Bevan better known as The Green Children. Hailing from Alesund, Norway and Warwick, England, the Euro-duo is bringing “Cinematic Fantasy Pop” – as they proclaim and rightfully so – to an International audience.

Partnering up with Whole Foods Market and Whole Planet Foundation they will soon be releasing a series of exciting singles. Philip Sansone, President of Whole Planet Foundation calls The Green Children, “Angels of positive change” who “Whole Foods Market and Whole Planet Foundation are enormously proud to have as a partner”.

The Green Children daringly walk the thin line between fact and fiction. Fact; The Green Children’s journey began at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts – an English university established by Sir Paul McCartney that offers training in acting, dancing, theatre and music. Sharing similar musical influences including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Björk, David Bowie, Enya, Imogen Heap and Royksopp to name a few, the desire to start up a group was mutual. With Marlow’s infectious instrumentation and Milla’s melodious tones, the chemistry was undeniable. So undeniable, that the “fantasmic” sound caught the ear of Universal Music Group in the US, over five thousand miles away. In 2008, The Green Children signed to Universal Motown but quickly became very unhappy with their experience at the label. In their words, “For a city of angels, they’re hard to find, our faith in the business quickly declined, who would have thought our happiest day, would come when we’d thrown our deal away”. The Green Children chose to leave the label in April 2009.

The tale of The Green Children dates back to the 12th century where according to legend, a boy and girl mysteriously appeared in the English village of Woolpit. The children spoke an unfamiliar language, wore strange clothing and refused to eat anything but green beanstalks. When the girl learned English, she told the village that they came from a sunless land where the people constantly lived in twilight. Ironically enough, Milla is allergic to the sun and one of the people who reported the children later became the Earl of Warwick, where Marlow was raised – an entirely different part of the country.

Upon travelling to Woolpit, Marlow and Milla discovered that The Green Children legacy was in fact their destiny. In a small museum in the village, drawings depicted The Green Children as a boy with dark curly hair and the girl with long blonde hair. “It was us,” states Marlow. “It’s as if The Green Children chose us to continue the legend in the 21st century.”

And with the legend comes a legacy as The Green Children are not only changing the music industry but the world with their Green Children Foundation. In an effort to support microcredit, education and healthcare, the non-profit organization has spread hope in countries such as Bangladesh through hospitals, small business entrepreneurship and scholarships. In 2006, The Green Children partnered with Nobel Peace Prize recipient Professor Muhammad Yunus and launched a campaign in Norway, where they sold a CD/DVD package throughout the country. Together, they raised over $500,000 for one of the first eye hospitals in rural Bangladesh. The hospital will work towards serving 50,000 people per year, 10,000 of which will receive a vital cataracts operation and escape from a life of blindness.

"I believe that gifts are given for a reason and that we are meant to use them for the greater good,” says Milla. “With my voice I hope to inspire and raise awareness for positive solutions that are working to conquer world poverty."

In addition to the foundation, The Green Children plan to make a lasting impression on the environment by leaving less of a carbon footprint. Through green initiatives and awareness, The Green Children join the fight to protect nature’s vital resources.

"I hope in the future that being green will be as natural as any daily routine,” declare The Green Children. “For anyone who likes animals and nature it should be an obvious choice; it’s not always easy for one person to do a lot, but it should be easy for a lot of people to do a little."

The Green Children are more than the myth and will not stop until their destiny is fulfilled. With an out-of-this-world sound and the Universe on their side, The Green Children plan to leave their competition green with envy.

Hear Me Now

Written By: Milla Sunde, Marlow Bevan

A scarf uncovers a smiling face
That tells the story of a changing place
She knows no greater wonder than what she's seen
She bears a heart of secrets from where she's been, she says

Hear me now
Hear me now
Hear me out, she cries
See me now
See me now
See in me and I'll rise

She's worked hard and achieved
A new life's been received
So much pride in her eyes
She's thrown out her disguise
She's got a chance to make it on her own
Just one man gave hope to his home, he says

Hear me now
Hear me now
Hear me out, he cries
See her now
See her now
See in her and she'll rise

She speaks unfamiliar words
But so easily understood
It's like a tone in her voice
Reveals the power of choice
She's so wonderful
The way she holds herself
She finally broke the spell
You can tell

Hear me now
Hear me now
Hear me out, she cries
See me now
See me now
See in me and I'll rise

Hear me now
Hear me now
Hear me out, he cries
See her now
See her now
See in her and she'll rise

A scarf uncovers a smiling face
That tells the story of a changing place

Life Was Beautiful

Written By: Milla Sunde, Marlow Bevan

Can’t say much for politics
Religious fears and historic
And with all the books I’ve read
It’s still as confusing in my head

I don’t even know where we stand
Where it all we’re going to go or how all ends
I don’t really know that much at all
But I can tell you this when I felt your kiss

Life was beautiful
Life was beautiful to me

I don’t know how I could love you yet
When I shyly know that we’ve just met
There’s so much I could say
But I fear I would push you away
But I tell you this when I felt your kiss

Life was beautiful
Life was beautiful to me
Life was beautiful
Life was beautiful to me

When I’m covered in darkness
And find it hard to breath
I know I’ll find comfort
In this my memory

Cause life was beautiful
Life was beautiful to me
Life was beautiful to me
Life

Life was beautiful to me
Life was beautiful to me
Life was beautiful
