Biography

Green Light District is the product of the right musicians coming together at the right time. Bassist Ben McFarland and guitarist James Fitzgerald have been making music together since their high school days, and it shows in the way the intricate bass lines and catchy rock guitar riffs melt together. The two wrote music and jammed with many other musicians for several years, all the while searching for the right musicians and the right time.

A chance meeting in summer classes at Iowa State University brought keyboardist Horace Tantang into the mix. Horace has studied the piano since the age of four, and his mastery of the instrument is a brilliant component of the Green Light District sound. Horace is also a talented background vocalist.

A second chance meeting in the Music Hall at Iowa State brought drummer and music major, David Miller, in to finish off the roster. A product of intense music theory study, David is a spectacular combination of inspirational creativity and disciplined precision. His finely-tuned skills glue the band together.

The roster finally complete, Green Light District quickly caught the ear of central Iowa. After only 2 shows and 5 hours in the studio, 105.1 channel Q in Ames, Iowa featured Green Light District's song "Lunch?" on their Iowa Unsigned program. A couple weeks after their radio debut, Green Light District was invited into the 105.1 studio for an on-air interview.

These guys love music, plain and simple. They love capturing their audience night after night. Green Light District has a passion for pure, raw rock and roll.

Lyrics

Big Bad Wolf

Written By: James Fitzgerald and Benjamin McFarland

You're not singing, gun-slinging
then you throw your hands up in despair
Persecuted, but it's you that
Wants more than fair

You need the big bad wolf
Where is the big bad wolf
It's not me
You want the big struggle
Where is your big struggle
You are free

You say one thing, you do nothing
that you promised when you still needed us
You talk too much, and you threw us
Under the bus

Where is the big bad wolf
It's not me
You want the big struggle
Where is your big struggle
You are free

Lunch?

Written By: James Fitzgerald

Lunch

You're lost and only because it's natural
That could be almost anyone
Right place, right time and a lack of self
That could be almost anyone under the sun now

Let me buy you lunch!
It could be fun
Let me buy you lunch!
Take you for a walk, and we can talk
Take you for a walk

You've got something and it's unusual
I can't say just what it is
You're kinda like the smoke from my cigar
I can't say just what it is
But your eyes I cannot miss

Let me buy you lunch!
It could be fun
Let me buy you lunch!
Take you for a walk, and we can talk
Take you for a walk

Stop by Again

Written By: James Fitzgerald

Stop by again
I didn't have the guts yesterday
when you were walking my way
Worried that I
was gonna screw it up so I stayed
on my porch and waved

I'll make you say
I'll make you say you wanna stay
Tell me okay
And we can talk along the way

Stop by again
I didn't have the words yesterday
when you were walking my way
Worried that I was gonna say it wrong
so I stayed on my porch and waved

I'll make you say
I'll make you say you wanna stay
Tell me okay
And we can talk along the way
