"Our Favorite New Band"

Green Lemon
It's been 4 years since playing the leaky garages and rickety tin shacks of their early days on the Oklahoma City countryside. Today, these five rowdy musicians can't stop packing venues in their current homebase town of Fort Collins, CO. Their music surrealistically fuses island, jam, acid jazz, funk and electronica with a stream of vocals flowing throughout that'll make your mouth water. This music is euphoric. It is no accident they've shared the stage with respected bands ranging from The Motet to Particle. There are hints of Pink Floyd, Ween, Jimi Hendrix and The Flaming Lips found within as the band is honing in on their own sound. And for such a small band, their self-titled debut album is exceptionally well produced. We're keeping an eye on Green Lemon as they have visionary and bold plans to play the Taj Mahal and eventually the moon!

Bio

Green Lemon found its origins in the Oklahoma City area in 1999. Under the name ‘Grass’ they began playing at private parties and graduation parties. In the year 2000 Green Lemon hosted an open air concert on 400 acres of private land located in Arcadia, Oklahoma called “The Get Down”. 1200 people attended their event. After building a dedicated local fan base, Green Lemon began to branch away from their hometown of Edmond, Oklahoma and began booking gigs in Oklahoma City and surrounding cities. Playing small clubs, bars and ballrooms they expanded their following filling venues 400+ with a welcome invitation to perform again from venue owners.

In 2001 Green Lemon packed up their gear and decided to head to Fort Collins to pursue their futures in Colorado. During the last 2 years, Green Lemon has captured the attention of new fans and club owners. They have continued to maintain their quest as a working band. Playing venues ranging with capacities from 300-700 people, Green Lemon has consistently brought in 500+ people when they perform regularly at the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins, their new ‘hometown’. In 2001 Green Lemon was named one of the premier jam bands in Northern Colorado by Linden’s Brewing Company.

Green Lemon’s original song “Intergalactic Intercourse” can be heard on The Point 99.9 FM; KCSU 90.5 FM; and The Bear 107.9 regularly.

Over the last couple of years, Green Lemon has toured playing venues in Wyoming, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas. Green Lemon continues to return to Oklahoma regularly to perform for their home town crowd as well as introducing new fans to their music.

Green Lemon has just completed their first full length, self titled, CD that is turning heads around the nation!
