The Green Mt. Pranksters only play covers of Grateful Dead, Phish, Widespread Panic & other jamband tunes. They are committed to playing just jamband music, rather than being your typical 'little bit of everything' cover band.
Starting with shows in January 2007, in just 7 months the Green Mt. Pranksters were chosen as the supporting act to former Phish keyboardist Page McConnell’s band at the Springfield, VT celebration of the national premier of the Simpson’s Movie. Springfield, VT was chosen to be the “Official Simpson’s Springfield” after their video submission won the 20th Century Fox Studio’s Hometown Movie Challenge. January 19th 2008 the band was the featured musical guest on the award-winning local TV variety show, Late Night Saturday with Tim Kavanagh, broadcast on WCAX-TV the CBS affiliate in Burlington VT, and on many cable systems in Vermont & New Hampshire. Compared by many fans to Dark Star Orchestra with other jamband covers thrown in, The Green Mt. Pranksters play a regular venue rotation in Vermont, and are always looking for new and interesting venues and festivals to play.
