"Nights in NY"

Nights In New York
by ALISON LAUTH

I'm With The Band

What do you get when you mesh together sounds of the Foo Fighters and Ben Folds? You get Fake Chapter Records band Green to Think. These busy guys have had a lot going for them this year. They have performed for cable TV and web audiences from New York's Elbow Room and the Dewey Beach Festival in Delaware among their normal trips around the NY/NJ circuit. The band will also be appearing on soundtracks for the films Harlem's Beauty and Getting Stiffed, as well as two Artist Amplification compilations.
Their EP, Sundays Were Made For This, is a wonder within itself. From the title track to the beautifully mellow "Alison Rose," the combination of impressive songwriting and impeccable delivery certainly warrant an upcoming record. But, the most amazing point has not yet been made...the EP was written, produced, engineered, and mixed by the band! This feat is commonly attempted by amateur bands as a money saver, but Green To Think has produced a product practically ready for the shelves.
On Friday at 9:15, Green To Think will be showcasing their refreshing blend at NYC's Bitter End. This venue was founded in the 1960's and has hosted performers such as Miles Davis, Lisa Loeb, and Bob Dylan. The cozy abode charges a $5 cover, and will soon be accustomed to Green To Think.

Bio

Green To Think has officially exploded!! With a solid alt-rock sound, a molten new EP release and a sturdy veteran line-up to make it all happen, this foursome is erupting all over the Eastern Sea Board. GTT partnered with Fake Chapter Records to release the bold recording, SUNDAYS WERE MADE FOR THIS, to a sold-out crowd at the legendary Maxwell’s in NJ. They’ve since launched a successful college radio campaign including not only CMJ top 200 but several European and internet stations including regular rotation on XM Satellite Radio as well as New York’s commercial stations Q104.3 and WDHA 105.5. Recent performances include opening spots for Graham Colton (Universal), Wheat (Aware), Hey Mercedes (Vagrant), industry showcases at MMC, Dewey Beach, NACA, as well as a Cable TV and web cast from NYC’s acclaimed Elbow Room. They’ve also secured 4 songs in 3 films, Harlem’s Beauty, Getting Stiffed and Legendary Sports Images, while contributing to compilations released by Artist Amplification, Delaware Rocks, Dewey Beach, Fake Chapter Records and the Millennium Music Conference. Green To Think’s music was featured by Italian Journalist Gabriella Simoni on Network TV “Italia Uno” as well as a national television commercials for Espo’s Surf & Sport. It’s no wonder their EP was voted one of the best albums of the year by Signal Fading.

Green To Think’s live show is emotional and their songs heartfelt. These guys are tight! It is no surprise, then, that their schedule maintains regular sold-out appearances in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. GTT recently toured down the East Coast with dates in Virginia, Florida, The Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Maryland, DC, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and more. They are currently in the studio hammering out their next release slated for 2004.

This outfit has a growing, dedicated following and is mega-charged to rile the crowd in every direction it heads. Hear the Green To Think disc and you'll be way happy the independent scene exists-see them live and you'll wonder why anything else does!
