Bio

GreenTree started making a name for themselves in 2010 when guitarist Jonathan Roy and bassist Andrew Fleury recruited Cezar White as a lively lead guitarist. Shortly after, Glenn Stuart Hall filled a vacant drummer position, but his songwriting and vocal ability quickly started laying the groundwork for what GreenTree would become. With Glenn on board, Gabriela Geneva was brought in to help with vocal harmonies, and it became clear that her voice was integral in shaping the band’s new sound.

The band hit the Lower Mainland with multiple performances including charity events for “To Write Love On Her Arms” and the BC Children’s Hospital. They also started building their online presence uploading their originals and covers to YouTube, which have had a great reception. While GreenTree was making a splash in the Vancouver music scene, they were also getting notice in regional press and radio with articles in the Tri-City News and airplay on CJSF Radio 90.1FM, CiTR 101.9FM and CFOX 99.3FM.

In summer of 2011 the band decided it was time to start professionally recording some original content, so they hit the studio to record their debut EP. Near the end of the year they released their first single “Who I Am” along with its music video that went on to win multiple awards including Best Music Video – The Vancouver Sun CBC Student Video Awards and Best Music Video – Reel Stars Film Festival.

GreenTree made their biggest mark yet on the Vancouver music scene when in February 2012 they released their anticipated EP “Back When They Were Good”, to a sold-out 250 plus crowd at Tom Lee Music Hall in Vancouver, one of the largest indie releases in the city. This five song eclectic EP is now available on iTunes, Amazon and BandCamp. Riding the success of the EP release, GreenTree hit the road for their first gig outside the province at Seventh Rain’s CD Release show in Calgary where they had a blast and delighted the prairie crowd.

Most recently GreenTree has pushed Glenn up front to sing lead vocals with Gabriela, with Brant Wladichuk taking his place on drums, giving the band more freedom both creatively and on stage.

GreenTree is now in the process of writing and recording new material, growing their fan base, and planning their tour for summer 2013. Thanks to their friends and fans, they look forward to the future and the experiences it will bring.
