Los Angeles based Green Vinyl Dream are set to explode. The alternative/classic rock act has had major success in their hometown thanks to KLOS morning personalities Mark & Brian. The radio jocks took GVD under their wing and gave them lots of local airplay. GVD is deep with catchy tunes and strong heartfelt lyrics. "Kaleidoscope" has an infectious chorus and solid guitar work. "Pool Of Echoes" is another great song, with excellent vocals and harmonies throughout the chorus. Other notable cuts include the John Lennon award winning "Everybody's Here". GVD remind me of old LIVE (before they were rock stars) ...very gritty and very real. Humble if you will. I'm glad I checked this one out. I've already received requests to borrow it after I'm done writing this piece (i have a feeling I will never see it again once I loan it out!) - Album Network

Bio
Building on the impressive momentum generated from their 2000 self-titled release and it’s hit single “Kaleidoscope”, GVD released their much anticipated 3rd album, “Babylon” during the summer of 2003. These new monster tracks, coupled with their energetic live show, has them firmly heading towards the breakthrough they’ve been destined for. The band takes seemingly innate songwriting and performance instincts and combines them with a breadth of inspirations – from alt rock to classic rock to new rock – to create a unique sonic punch and relentlessly memorable hooks. The new album is an evolution from the first release. Where “Green Vinyl Dream” introduced the world to the band’s signature sound, “Babylon” takes the listener into more colorful soundscapes, balanced with pointed lyrics and harder edged grooves. The band formed in Southern California's San Fernando Valley in the mid-‘90s and quickly began garnering attention. GVD was named one of the Top Ten unsigned acts of the year by Music Connection Magazine, and their debut indie CD earned them the “Most Outstanding Indie Album” award at the L.A. Music Awards. The band also won an award for one of their songs from the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest. That song, "Everybody’s Here," is often a GVD show closer. GVD is a true collective - four like-minded, talented musicians, sincere and serious about what they do. The band toured extensively for most of 2003 opening for Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo on their nationwide tour.
