Bio

Greesome is a group of eight extremely talented and passionate musicians who are deeply committed to creating their own style of funk and soul. The solid rhythm section of David Coniglio (drums) and Fetch (bass) anchors the band with deep pocket grooves that can pack any dance floor. The melodic, funky, rock and jazz influenced solos of Ben "Wah" Fairbank (guitar) and Martin "Alabama" Barnes (keyboards) are intricate and soulful and round out this solid rhythm section. The powerful and inventive horn section of Matt Willis (alto sax), Jeff "Big Man 50 Grand" Bradley (bari sax) and Max Ribner (trumpet), adds tasteful arrangements and tight playing which instantly places them among the great horn sections of all time such as the Tower of Power Horns or the JB horns. The final and key ingredient to the band is the soulful and emotive voice of Kourtni Danner. She is a singer whose versatility can paint with ease vivid pictures of the depth of sadness and the height of happiness. When these individuals combine, the result is undeniable; this music is an intense, soulful funk that is sure to please both the old and new school purist alike.

Greesome has been together for over six years and they continue to thrive in the Boston music scene. Greesome began cutting their teeth playing packed house parties, which quickly found them a hardcore group of devoted fans who have helped bring them the recognition they deserve. Quickly they found themselves playing venues such as House of Blues, Harpers Ferry, Bills Bar, The Paradise, Johnny D's, Felt, Ryles Jazz Club, and many other fine venues around the North East. Greesome released their debut album "Deluxe" in April 2006.
