Bio

Greg Griffin, an extremely talented singer/songwriter, was born and raised in Lucedale, MS. He lives and works as a fireman in Gulfport, MS. He has been writing and performing from a very young age throughout the southern region, from Nashville and many venues in between. He formed his own backup band in 2009, featuring the talents of guitarist - Jim Gray, drummer - Keith Dykes, bass player - Doug Howell, and named them "The Dry Creek Band." These guys have a total of about 100 years musical experience in their pockets and if you cut them they will bleed 8th notes! They have been burning up stages with original material ever since with songs such as Open Road, Gypsy Girl, Bad Blood Line, Haunt This Heart, and Louisiana Moonshine King drawing a crowd of followers numbering in the thousands.

Greg was influenced at an early age by his father and many of the great legends such as Merle Haggard and George Jones while blending the hard rocking styles of Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, and the kings of southern rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd. His original works are quickly becoming locally requested favorites, and he hasn't even started to record them all!

As a firefighter in Gulfport, Greg has worked his way up to Lieutenant, and is also a part-time medical examiner (yes, there's nothing wrong with your eyesight, he actually does this). Even though he loves his job and is a dedicated fireman, he would walk away in a second without looking back to do what he loves more than breathing...playing music for his fans!

Over the last few months Greg and the guys have been asked by local charitable foundations to perform at various events involving helping the people of the Gulf Coast in their rebuilding efforts that still continue after Hurricane Katrina. The Hope Foundation held a free concert and talent contest during August and asked the band to be one of their featured acts. Hands On Mississippi also contacted the band to be part of their fundraising campaign to help Loaves and Fishes of the Gulf Coast during the holiday season. Generosity is ingrained in these boys!

They have also played in many other festivals and events across the coast, throwing in the occasional night club to round out their varied schedule which just keeps getting busier and busier! What a way to go!
