Further more I have arranged and composed for over 100 CD, DVD or LP's.
My Latin Jazz solo carreer started with my first jazz CD in 1998 were I have given an ode to our local waltz and rhythms from Curacao.
My latest project called CoCoGreGre was in 2004 were have recorded with 16 of the best musicians on the Netherlands Antilles and this CD called La fiesta de Tito has been already on the top 20 in PtoRico august 2005, been played in Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Miami US, Netherlands, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Colombia as far as I know.
The Song Pa'La Calle was a winner in the International Songwriting (ISC) Festival in the year 2006.

Bio

Gregory J. Colina, was born on the island of Curaçao in 1969 and belongs to a well known musical family throughout the Netherlands Antilles, Aruba, Caribbean and Europe. The three Colina’s namely: Errol Toro Colina, Jacobo Colina and himself Gregory Colina.
His first music lessons he got came from his father Jacobo Colina and these were trumpet lesson and music theory lessons at age 7.
After that at age 9, he started as an autodidact student studying piano using the Suzuki Piano Method, Hanon Piano Method, Chzerny Piano Method. He also did study classical piano masters like Mozart, Bach, Handel, and Chopin.
After transcribing and learning most of the Latin rhythms he started playing in popular bands at the age of 14 turning 15 and has obtained a vast experience of 23 playing years in the Latin Dance Music scene and later in the Latin Jazz Music Scene in Europe, the Netherlands and Caribbean.

At age 18 he went to Europe (Netherlands) to study Information Technology Engineering and has obtained an Engineering Degree in System and Network Engineering. He did also study at the Conservatory of Rotterdam with piano master Jan Hartong and took various master arranging classes at the Hilversum Conservatory. While living in Europe he has placed himself amongst the finest Latin (Jazz) piano players and arrangers and he has been on tours in every country in Europe for 7 years, touring with various well known International Artists and European Artist. He was also well-known for his first sight reading skills, explosive soloing technique and the impeccable ability to play all Latin Salsa, Latin Jazz, Brazilian and Caribbean Styles. Four 4 years he gave also private lessons in the Netherlands to various Conservatory Students and Teachers who wanted to know the insights of Latin Piano styles.

Besides his current job as IT manager, he is still active as a Composer, Arranger and Piano player for various local and international artists. He has recorded, arranged, composed and played on over 100 CD recordings including DVD’s, International TV Appearances (USA, Holland, Spain, Italy, Venezuela) and Video Recordings. Latest project was recorded in 20th Curacao Jazz Festival and this DVD came out in the year 2009. In the year 2004 he made his second solo recording called La Fiesta de Tito (Puente) and succeeded to put a hit song “P’a La Calle” on the Latin Beat Magazine top 20 at the island of Pto.Rico in August of 2005. This song is also included in this book and on the attached CD. Also this last CD has been elected twice CD of the week in Italy this year 2006.
