Bio

2003 Wammie Nominee for "Best Instrumentalist, Contemporary Folk Instrumentalist". Veteran of Wammie-Nominated Dandelion Wine, Gregory Lygon's refreshing approach to AAA/Contemporary Acoustic music combines the clarity and conscience of folk, the sophistication of jazz and the imagination of new age to create a dynamic and soulful sound.

A student of guitar for some 25 years, Lygon's acoustic guitar "ring's true" according to Pat Staton, formerly of WAGE AM 1200. His songwriting hails to his influences like Jackson Brown, Dan Fogelberg or Don Henley. Yet as Diane Gibbs said in the Alexandria Old Town Crier, Lygon "shouldn't be compared to anybody because he is a unicorn, enigmatic and rare".

After Dandelion Wine called it a day, Lygon recorded "UnEarthly Passions", a solo effort recorded in his home digital project studio. As a lyric writer, Lygon’s style is all at once contemplative and philosophical, weaving Americana, nature themes and his own life experience to muse about the world we live in.

Lygon is near completion of his 2nd CD, "The Most Lucid Moments", scheduled for an early 2005 release
