"My pal Ed Douglas at the Double Eagle Music Store in Normal Heights found an old Mexican nylon string guitar in a back alley trash can. He gave it to me, and that evening I was eager to play it at my show. During my first tune I looked down to see a huge, hairy black spider crawling out of the sound hole -- I screamed like a little girl and the thing disappeared back into the guitar -- I sing through an old Shure bullet microphone, which adds a unique shitty quality to my voice. I also play a turn-of-the-century field pump organ, which adds to the religious experience."

Gregory Page has opened shows for Bob Dylan, John Prine, Judy Collins, Jason Mraz, Alejandro Escovedo, Chris Issak & Dave Alvin. Page has worked with an eclectic array of artists such as Jason Mraz, John Doe, Jewel & Tom Brosseau amongst others. He is an accomplished singer/songwriter with proven success in producing & recording music. With featured songs in primetime T.V shows & movies. October ‘08 Gregory’s song “The Great Wild Beyond” is featured in the film “Billy, The Early Years” & on the soundtrack along with Roy Orbison & Sara Evans. Released on Arista Nashville. Spring ‘08 while on tour in Australia opening for Jason Mraz, Gregory was invited to perform a one hour set at the prestigous Point Nepean Music Festival. While on tour for two months in Australia, Page wrote the album "Bird In A Cage".
Musician/songwriter and producer Gregory Page was born in London, England to a musical family. His mum was the lead singer/bass player in the all girl group, The Beat Chicks. In August 1965 they opened twice
for The Beatles in Barcelona & Madrid. The concerts were held inside a bullring. One day both groups sat together watching a bullfight. Young Page sat upon Paul’s knee and right before the bull was finally slaughtered Paul covered Gregory’s eyes with both of his hands. As a teenager, he attended Trinity College of Music where he studied classical guitar and composition. At the age of sixteen, Page moved to Southern California where he began tirelessly writing and recording his own brand of music. As the years passed, Page not only worked on his own projects but also began to work with an eclectic array of artists such as Jason Mraz, John Doe, Jewel & Tom Brosseau amongst others. It is a rare gift to be able to convey the emotional depth that Page has delivered on his new album “Bird In A Cage” and there is an indescribable sense when listening to it that you have uncovered a secret.

The inspiration for Gregory's previous album came in an unusual way. "Love Made Me Drunk” is a concept album of sorts, as it is uniquely different from his past works and profoundly influenced by the music of France, “The melodies were floating above my head constantly” says Page. “Walking through the ancient streets trying to imagine Paris one hundred years ago, the songs are like musical postcards”. The real story behind “Love Made Me Drunk” is a bittersweet and
beautiful tale. At the age of 30, Gregory’s mother informed him that the man he thought was his father was in actuality his stepfather, and though she knew nothing of his real father’s whereabouts she gave him his name. After a great deal of searching he found that his father was living in Paris, and a reunion was arranged. The concept of “Love Made Me Drunk” came to life during that first visit to Paris.

Like the music of Hank Williams Sr., Mississippi John Hurt, Etta James, Townes Van Zandt, Harold Arlen & Cole Porter, Page is not inspired by American music he is American Music.
