Bio

Edinburgh indie songwriter, Greg Pearson, has had a long standing affair with his local music community. The 22 year old multi instrumentalist has played in bands since his formative adolescent years and in this time has graced a number of prestigious venues in support of the likes of Razorlight and The View. Having now reached a level of maturity where he feels confident to pursue his own solo endeavours Greg has taken the Edinburgh scene by storm. His first solo gig at the Voodoo Rooms to a capacity crowd was a great success. Featuring a number of industry guests, this allowed him a platform to showcase his latest tracks which so far have been compared to the melodic sincerity of early Motown coupled with the raw emotion of acoustic Kings of Leon arrangements. Greg's socially conscious lyrics convey an almost introspective and reflective nature which deal with the evolution and changing nature of his own relationships whilst struggling to come to terms with his own identity within the social landscape. ? With a raspy and expressive timbre that can be compared to contemporaries such as Paolo Nutini, the young Edinburgh troubadour looks set to storm the UK music scene and leave a generation of his peers wanting to rip it up and start again. The latter stages of 2012 seen Greg come together with his full band where they played to another sold out crowd at 'The Tenement TV stage' at Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh, for the second 'EH1 Live' multi-venue music festival, (www.eh1live.co.uk) . Fourteen days later Greg and the band were back to play 'Haddow Fest' 2012 (www.haddowfest.co.uk), another multi-venue festival in Edinburgh, where they played at The Caves, sharing the stage that day with Dundee supergroup Anderson, Mcginty, Webster, Ward and Fisher, and Edinburgh outfit, Mersault. Greg also had the chance to appear on stage, at Haddow fest, with friends The 10:04's at The HMV Picture House, where they were main support to headliners,The Cribs. Finishing 2012 in the best way possible - Greg was also booked by DF Concerts ( T in the park ), to support Dublin band The Coronas who have recently toured with The Script and Pink, at Edinburgh Castle.
