Lyrics

Mikaela

Written By: Greg Rank

There's a woman in this small town only a few of us know her name
She's introduced as Collins girlfriend, and that's who she became
It's true she loves this boy and thinks he's so mature
At times he feels the need to add a line to her signature

Mikaela
"Just call her Mikaela"
Mikaela
"Just call her Mikaela"

Her picture's in the year book but her name has been left out
It reads "Collin's little girlfriend" and she's to polite to pout
Few people know that her name means "Gift from God"
Some days she dreams that her name means something a little more odd

Mikaela
"Just call her Mikaela"
Mikaela
"Just call her Mikaela"

Bridge:
Every woman deserves to be adored as just herself
Not someone's little girlfriend, or a trophy on a bookcase shelf

If you meet this girl someday says the local righteous sage
Just make dog gone sure you start off on the right page
She's clear on who she loves and she enjoys a good game
But give the girl a little respect, and call her by her proper name

Mikaela
"Just call her Mikaela"
Mikaela
"Just call her Mikaela"

Hey

Written By: Greg Rank

They walk through my line each week. Buying groceries for their families. I think that some of them are crazy. I see most of their kids.
They invite me to little league games. And I don’t even know their names

I say Hey
Hey
Hey

Here comes that man again. Married 40 years to one woman. He always looks so darn happy. He shows me pictures of his wife. He always want his food in plastic bags. And he can’t even read the price tags.

I say Hey
Hey
Hey

They serve coffee and croissants. At this grocery store restaurant. My name is tattooed on my apron. I stock the shelves each night. People flash a smile at me. I help those customers buy their groceries.

I say Hey
Hey
Hey

Twice in a Lifetime

Written By: Greg Rank

Parenthood is good The world seems so much better
Now our little child Inspires happy letters
I want to give him something special While Haley's Comet's in the sky
So I'll point him towards the heavens And tell this little guy, that

Twice in his lifetime You could look up to the stars
And see this cosmic concert Far away, far away from mars
Twice in a lifetime

You could watch the comet shine
Young though he may be We'll remind him as he grows
So he can tell our grandchildren While we are getting old
That one night out in the desert We all looked up in the sky
And made a toast to family As Haley's Comet passed on by
