"Greg Waters Solo"

Greg Waters' distinctive and wondrous voice really shines on this album. It showcases a softer side of Greg but he lets it rip and flexes his considerable rock chops on a couple of songs, too. His confident songwriting evokes everything from sunshine and a hopeful view of things to cynicism, resignation and disappointment. The band is spot-on and the cd sounds fantastic. Greg's post Cool Waters Band period has begun brightly! This record is, for me, now part of the soundtrack to the summer of 2007.

Bio

The release of "Play On" in June of '07 marks the start of a new chapter for Greg Waters who spent 14 years fronting the Fox Valley favorites, The Cool Waters Band. The new album is once again thick with summer greens; somewhat reminiscent of 2005's "The Roots" with Mark Little. "Greg's post Cool Waters Band period has begun brightly! This record is, for me, now part of the soundtrack to the summer of 2007," says WAPL's Len Nelson.

Waters is currently playing live with the new band, The Broad Street Boogie supporting the album throughout the midwest. "These guys (Sly Joe, Mike Cool, Mike Underwood, and Shane Hardwicke) are incredible! They are all great musicians and bring a lot of different styles and influences to the table. We're all pretty excited," comments Waters. Some of these influences include artists like The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, G Love, Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin, Ben Harper, and Phish. The live show will feature originals from Greg and Sly Joe, as well as a hand full of cover songs. "The main goal is to keep things fresh for ourselves and our audience. I think we've got a good start on that for now."
