Former Yukon resident Greg Reichel is promoting his extended play (EP) that came out last summer, he will play from 2-4 p.m. this Saturday, March 22 at the Yukon Hastings store.
His EP was produced by Travis Linville, who played on the record along with his fiddle player Jeremy Watkins and Eric Hansen - drummer for the Mike McClure Band.
Reichel has been playing primarily acoustic shows but has recently formed a band that should be performing soon.
Reichel attended Yukon Public Schools through ninth grade before graduating from Blanchard High School. He now lives in Dallas and plays the Oklahoma and Texas circuit. He is getting air-play on some Texas country radio stations.

Main St. On the night of May 31, Reichel, whose songs include, "Wise Man", "Better Way", and "Call A Bluff", will play at the Cowboy Luau outdoor music fesitval in Yukon. I recently had a few words with the recently - married (sorry ladies) Americana musician on his upcoming gigs. Greg released, a Self - Titled EP in 2007. The EP consists of 4 songs. Wiseman, Call A Bluff, Surrender, and Better Way. All of the songs on the EP have gotten Radio airplay in the Oklahoma and Texas markets. However, the tune, "Wise Man", seemed to get the most attention.
In early 2012, Greg teamed up with a Texas Troubador, Walt Wilkins. Walt produced Greg's record "Circles", which was released in Sept of 2012. These recordings were done at Jumping Dog Studios in North Austin with the helps of Ron Flynt engineering and mixing the project, later being sent to Jerry Tub at Terra Nova Mastering in Austin to wrap up the mastering piece. Joining Greg in the studio for the album was The Mystiquero's (Ray Rodriguez, Bill Small, Tina Mitchell Wilkins, Corby Schaub, Marcus Eldridge and Jimmy Davis), Jondan McBride, Raina Cobb, Mike Daly and Walt.
It is getting airplay on Texas radio, as well as Sweden, and Australia stations. Tunes, "Circles", and "If you're listening", seem to be the most popular.

In the past 16 years of Greg Reichel's life, he has been graced with more musical attention, not only from his father who has been active in the movement of music, but from local musicians and followed heroes. For the past eight of those sixteen years, he has had the opporunity to write amongst, perform with or just open for some talented, heavy traveled and well known artists. All in all I guess you can say, Greg's understanding of music is beyond average. Greg Reichel's current residence is based outside Dallas, with soul covering many more miles than can be mentioned. Reichel's music falls somewhere between, Americana, Alternative Country, and Folk Rock. But the love, passion, bitterness,truthful foregoing, understanding of meaning hidden behind each song that Reichel has put a hand to, you will walk away with what's next from this singer - songwriter. Aside from his songwriting craft, his shows also consist of, story telling of his past and previous happenings, sing-a-longs, crowd participation encouraging their hands, feet, to be used as percussion instruments and the whitty humor that keeps those intrigued listeners coming back for more.
