Biography of GRENADE
Apart from the average Christian artist, Grenades passion, stage performance, attitude, and creative writing skills are what makes him special. Even with self-production, listeners cant help but notice the holy content displayed on every song. Grenades writing is a mixture of salvation meets street to intrigue the minds of todays society.
Born and raised in Atmore, Alabama, Grenade (Lewis Banks, Jr.) began writing at the age of 10. Growing up in a spiritual atmosphere, he started writing poetry and quickly developed a love for rap. After pushing over 5,000 mix-tape records independently within the last two years and performing at massive arenas, he has been encouraged by fans everywhere to reach a larger scale of ministry. With this in mind, Grenade has accomplished this by establishing his own record label (HGS RECORDS). After successfully entering the music scene with the song "My Everything", a summer-time hit that swept the south- Grenade directed and self-produced his first music video (My Everything) that can be viewed on a large variety of christian video shows. The response from fans was confirmation that this minister of the gospel is serious about music.
As a Youth Pastor, Author, Producer, Musician and traveling Evangelist, Grenade is a minister who is concerned about changing lives. Nicknamed Church-Boy, while performing at Winter Jam '05 (which featured KJ-52 and Third Day) he is also known for his energy, simplicity, and boldness in the pulpit as well as in the streets. Loaded with a business staff of 12 and a 15 member street-team, He strives to uphold the name of Christ without biting his tongue or stumbling over his message. Grenade is a voice that must be heard in the music world!
