Grenadier

Grenadier

 Austin, Texas, USA
BandMetalPunk

Grenadier is a very hard hitting, dynamic and unique melodic post-hardcore band that will grab you by your throat and sing (and scream) their heart and soul into your ears. The best comparison that has been given to the band is that they sound like Bad Religion, Thrice and In Flames in one band.

Biography

Story: Grenadier is comprised of two former members, Adrian Michael Munoz and Sam Rich, of ex-Fearless Records band, Dynamite Boy. Grenadier was formed in June of 2007 shortly after the disbanding of Dynamite Boy in 2005. Keith Moos, Chris Baker and Nicholas Swan make up the rest of this powerful 5-piece melodic post-hardcore band. The band has shared the stage with bands such as Andrew WK, Tom Gabel (Against Me!) and more! The band is currently making the finishing touches on their EP that is scheduled to be released in November of 2010!

Influences: The wide variety of influences between each individual member of the band is clearly expressed in their songwriting. Influences such as The Misfits, Soilwork, Pantera, Thrice, Jimmy Eat World, and a wide variety of other rock, pop, metal and hardcore bands, are the foundation of Grenadier's unique sound.

Lyrics

Bury the Weapon

Written By: Adrian Munoz

Another tortured face
From resentment
It's always been this way
Bold reactions
Don't blame me
Because I've always known it
No retreat
From your world infected

Less stabbing words
More of actively listening
A deafening tone
To hear you errupt and explode

Make a sound
Until it drowns
A knife in sand
Save your face
Repudiate
And rinse your hands

It's so like you to take
Every action
To show no empathy
So apathetic
Don't believe
Your own misconceptions
No retreat
From your world infected

Less stabbing words
More of actively listening
A deafening tone
To hear you errupt and explode

Make a sound
Until it drowns
A knife in sand
Save your face
Repudiate
And rinse your hands

Go back home
You relapse while I resist
Go back home

Less stabbing words
More of actively listening
A deafening tone
To hear you errupt and explode

Make a sound
Until it drowns
A knife in sand
Save your face
Repudiate
And rinse your hands

Let this calling break the crowd

If I could remember
where your light shined from
I'd bust it out

Elitist

Written By: Adrian Munoz

In this profession
appearance shows disdain
Instability with nothing to gain
We all know better
than to question the fame
We all envision the high horse being put to shame

Slit your own wrists
One more reason to forget
If we're so helpless
then why do we seem so
confident an safe

Are we pathetic?
Is there no gratitude?
An empty promise for the life we choose
Unsystematic
Following protocol
Take your pick from the list of flaws
You'll never get it
from whats expected
Secured in leadership

Slit your own wrists
One more reason to forget
If we're so Helpless
then why do we seem so
confident an safe

Face mistakes
Make way for the underdog
Pull, bend, break from
your own protocol

The Ship vs. The Storm

Written By: Adrian Munoz

Push away from the docks and set sail
Let the waves wash away any trails
We will break all the ties
to take life by the reigns
and forget all the names
A release from the eyes
that can only see failure
We're free

This is a promise everlasting
Escape to a permanent retreat
Steer towards the light
Embrace it's casting
Becoming one into the sea

See the shore through the rays of the sun
No regrets for the things that we've done
From mistakes we can see
that there's always a love
in the outcome of pain
A defeat to redeem
ourselves back from the storm 'cause
We're free

We are a promise everlasting
This is a permanent retreat
Steer towards the light
Embrace it's casting
Becoming one into the sea

Ascendancy
Never dismiss our loyalty
Put trust in me
and I will trust you

Let the winds take control
and hold on to me
Put trust in me
Take a breath to unfurl
the best harmony
for all to see

Let the winds take control
and hold on to me
Put trust in me
Take a breath to unfurl
the best harmony
for all to see

Live through this stormy weather
and strive for something better

Ascendancy
Never dismiss our loyalty
Put trust in me
and I will trust you

Remedies

Written By: Adrian Munoz

Take one last look my friends
This is the last time I'll fit in
Depart this sinking ship
I'll shed imperfect skin
And accept the fact that you are all so misdirected
And we're so easily rejected from your cult

Think of your origins
When was the last time you gave in
To any loyalty
Deceitful words enlist to all associated
Stand by every judgement
And realize that it was you all along

Emotional extremity
Believe just what you want to believe
I'll hold on to this remedy for enemies

Fall with your reasons
Give up, recognize that this fabrication is set to fall
Don't live in treason
Words strike to ignite this fateful detachment of us all

So easily rejected from your cult

Emotional extremity
Believe just what you want to believe
I'll hold on to this remedy for enemies

Fall with your reasons
Give up, recognize that this fabrication is set to fall
Don't live in treason
Words strike to ignite this fateful detachment of us all

Mannequins

Written By: Adrian Munoz

The perfect prototype
A manufactured clone
with painted eyes
A shining vanity
conceals a mystery
from those who carry honesty

Don't fight for the throne
it's not worth the battle
when all of the world
would kill for the spotlight
Dont fight for the throne

Project a perfect tone
until it shakes your bones
The sound is safe
If they could see our hearts
The flaws would be disposed
I won't hold my breath

Bones and strings forcing
all the actions for reactions
Come all weak, listen
to the melodies of broken faith

We can barely breath in this air
In our dreams we could only seem closer
They can clearly see
Only in our dreams

Bones and strings forcing
all the actions for reactions
Come all weak, listen
to the melodies of broken faith
