"Megan Noel, KRFC, Fort Collins Radio Station"

"You guys (and girl) have a lot of amazing talent. You market yourself well and you could take over the world." - Megan Noel

"Scene Magazine"

"If you are a product of the 90s and like the softer side of this era; Grey Weather is your 21st century ticket. Opening up the album with a melodic tune called, “Carbon Copies”, Grey Weather immediately shows their strength as players...They end as strong as the album started, which shows promise for this new band." - Rick White

Bio

Greyweather is a collection of talented, hard working musicians that work extremely well together. Led by Kurtis Humann, the band has a strong vocal influence guiding every song. While Kurtis does lay the foundation for most songs with his acoustic guitar and lyrics, a strong light is cast upon Jen Lockwood, electric cello and backing vocalist. Jen helps deliver every song with an instrument not typically heard in a pop-music setting. A frequent comment among fans of the band is that she helps the band deliver their music with class and elegance. Juxtaposed to Jen is Tyler T. Tyler is the band's electric guitarist and brings a definitive edge to the band's sound. Tyler weaves his solos and rhythms with the cello flawlessly and adds a much needed element to their live performances. Finally, the rhythm section of the band is anchored by Jesse Lee on Bass and Raul Brown on drums. Jesse is an incredibly strong player with a flair for the dramatic. While he may not be part of the lead section of instruments, you wouldn't know that by watching him live as his performances often command the audience's attention entirely. Raul on drums is as solid as drummers get. Having his musical influence rooted in heavier music, he brings high energy that infects the band and crowd instantly. While being a high-energy drummer, Raul also has a lighter side that makes him highly versatile in multiple musical environments.
This collection of players has created a strong rock/pop/ adult contemporary rock sound that is unique in style and instrumentation. They are influenced by most music from classical to current rock, but can be described as a band rooted in the 90's rock genre with plenty of modern rock, jazz and pop overtones. Setting this band apart from most other acts is it's extremely adaptable sound. It's quite rare to find a band that is as strong in a small, quaint setting as it is in a large music hall. The energy does not suffer.
The band, while starting in December of 2011, is well on it way to great accomplishments. They hit the scene with conviction, opening for national touring acts such as Toad the Wet Sprocket and Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers and recently released a 5 song EP with plans of releasing their second EP in May of 2013. Regardless of what style you may find yourself listening to, you will find something to like about this band.
