Even though the Griffin Kott Band hasn’t been around for long, it has proven itself to be a hit among the college crowds of Central Texas. In only two months, the band has developed a strong reputation as an up-and-coming Texas Country band.

An early opportunity presented itself when GKB had the chance to perform with The Voice contestant Holly Tucker at the Baylor’s Veterans Day Ceremony in the beginning of November (quote). With this momentum, GKB rolled into College Station, a hot bed for Texas Country music, and performed at Church Street BBQ – a venue that has previously showcased well-known Texas Country artists like the Thieving Birds and Jason Eady. GKB is set to record their first EP in the beginning of January in Austin, TX. They are excited to release their single, “The Drifter” on the radio in February (co-written with Taylor Langford and Valerie Harris). The EP will be soon to follow after this.

“It’s been crazy how we’ve gotten together and developed in such a short amount of time. We’re excited to get in the studio because our original songs are important to us as we develop as a band. Not only are the guys good musicians, but their work ethic is impeccable. Recording an EP is the next step to getting our name out there.” – Griffin

December marks an important month for Griffin Kott Band. They’re kicking it off with a performance at Waco Wonderland, a citywide Christmas event put on by the City of Waco. As the month progresses, GKB will book more shows and continue to prove that they are leading off a new generation of Texas Country music. Griffin Kott Band is here to stay.
