Lyrics

One More Thing

Written By: Brad Griffith

Aren’t we all after the American Dream?
Aren’t we all born with that right?
He turns the page in his men’s magazine
And sees a life he’d like to buy

‘Cause he’s seen it before up on the billboards
He’s seen it on TV
It’s the promise of just enough in one thing more
‘Cause there’s always one more thing

Chorus:
It’s the same old story, it’s the same old lie
We take the apple and we bite the fruit
The taste is so sweet we can’t swallow the truth
That we are no better, and we are not free
And we are not happy

In a sea of ambition we’re all swimming around
In search of a silvery line
Tell us what we’re missing, tell us what we need
And we’ll take the bait every time

‘Cause I’ll give you my life
exchanged for a wardrobe
Or a brand new SUV
And the promise goes on and on,
just one thing more
But there’s never just one more thing

Chorus:
It’s the same old story, it’s the same old lie
We take the apple and we bite the fruit
The taste is so sweet we can’t swallow the truth
That we are no better, and we are not free
And we are not happy

Chorus 2:
Don’t believe that story, don’t believe that lie
It’s okay to have wealth, it’s okay if you don’t
But want what you have and you’ll have
what you want
Because things are better when we set them free
And you can be happy

The Mind of the Lord

Written By: Brad Griffith

The mind of the Lord is a mighty wall
No army could scale, no kingdom could fall
No heaven so high, no ocean begin
To fathom the depth this knowledge descends

Chorus:
Who can know the mind of the Lord?
Who shall counsel Him?
Who has given that He should reward?
Who can understand the mind of the Lord?

(The mind of the Lord) can search a man’s heart
No cover can hide, no corner is dark
A man can deny he’s the man that he is
But the eyes of the Lord see his nakedness

Chorus:
Who can know the mind of the Lord?
Who shall counsel Him?
Who has given that He should reward?
Who can understand the mind of the Lord?

The mind of the Lord has one resolve
To pour out His blood to pardon us all
Mysterious love, this heart cannot grasp
Such knowledge above, it can only but ask…

Chorus:
Who can know the mind of the Lord?
Who shall counsel Him?
Who has given that He should reward?
Who can understand the mind of the Lord?

Won't Back Down

Written By: Brad Griffith

Comes a time a man must realize
Well, he can run or he can fight
If life’s a cause worth living for
The battle then becomes a war

Chorus:
But I won’t back down
I won’t back down
When the darkness comes
I won’t back down
I will stand this ground
Until the morning sun

Friend, don’t struggle on your own
The battle is not yours alone
Come, I offer you my hand
Against the enemy’s demands

The night may be upon us
But that’s the fight we’re in
And it may not get easier
It may never end

Chorus:
But I won’t back down
I won’t back down
When the darkness comes
I won’t back down
We will stand this ground
Until the morning sun
Let us fight as one

Comes a time a man must realize
Well, he can run or he can fight
We do not fight a lonely war
For many have been here before

The love of God our banner
Our faith shall be our shield
Victory our song the day that Jesus is revealed

Chorus:
So I won’t back down
I won’t back down
When the darkness comes
I won’t back down
We will stand this ground
Until the morning sun
Let us fight as one
