"Grooveria, pure energy on stage!"

The live shows of the brazilian combo, Grooveria are famous. In its mixture of samba, funk, jazz and hip-hop, dancing is an obligation to the public.

Barcelona has known and verified that everything said about these guys is true. They are pure energy on stage. The Catalan city was chosen to make his first appearance in Europe. Grooveria is a group based in São Paulo who released its first production in 2005. His albums tend to occupy leading positions in sales and major radio stations. The secret is to mix tradition with modern sounds of samba.

Dim lights
During Grooveria's presentations there are not only direct references of Brazilian music, but there is also an important contribution of sounds from other parts of the world.

"We do a combination of Brazilian music with American sounds. We love to do versions of songs by famous folk artists of our country. People who had an important role in the 1970 and 1980," says the singer and drummer Tuto Ferraz.

It explains that they are more a collective of artists that a fixed group. "10 years ago I called some friends and invited them to do a jam session. The difference was that we would improvise in terms of arrangement and interpretation of known songs as opposed to solely improvising. We play what we like and we used to do the arrangements on the spot. No rehearsal or sound check," he says.

Grooveria is formed, together with Ferraz, by DJ Rick Dub, and guitarist Leonardo Mendes. "People are very involved with our music when we're on stage. It is a vivid feeling, we do not play the songs on autopilot," said Ferraz.

The group has produced two CDs, one of which includes a DVD of performances in Brazil. They are also working on the release of a third work, they hope to present in 2011 in Spain.

"Grooveria in an interview in the Maré de Agosto Festival (video)"

The Brazilian collective Grooveria was present on the third day of the August Tide Festival on the island of Santa Maria, Azores. With a lot of groove and swing, the musicians managed to get the audience got up off the ground and Samba. Coming from Sao Paulo, the band took to retrieve and update some classics by Chico Buarque, Vinicius de Moraes, Max de Castro, Edu Lobo, and even Bob Marley.
"Jorge Maravilha", "Berimbau", "Good Nigger Hair" (the voice of DJ Rick Dub) 'Ponteio "and" Get Up, Stand Up "are among the topics that could hear. The relaxation of the band and the simplicity of the lyrics made the audience entered the party.

In an interview with IOL Music, drummer and vocalist Tuto Ferraz was fairly satisfied.

"This is the first time and loved it. I want to return every year. I love playing. I play as a child and I'm a fan of playing. Nor am very knowledgable. I like to play is a lot of instruments. And this concert was a delight, he insisted.

About teh audience in Azores, the musician also has a say: "I loved the audience. The impression I had was that they were into it too. I heard that the festival has always had a tradition of bringing people who are not necessarily known to the public. And it is good that the audience have this openness to receive and absorb a new sound and then follow '.

"Pocket show the sound of Grooveria Electroacustica"

A mosaic of Brazilian styles took the stage at Brava on Sunday, March 31. In the band's pocket Grooveria Electroacoustic, Sao Paulo, very reggae, rock and samba met and made the public fall into the party.
As the guitarist Leonardo Mendez, a meeting of musicians from Recife, Sao Paulo, Bahia and Alagoas, makes the experiences of each one makes the sound even more Brazilian.
- Everyone likes a lot of national music, then mix that we do not deny our roots - says Mendes.
The sound mix was news on the beach, also cheered the vacationers who have passed through the beach sand Brava. The student Gabriela Silva adopted what he heard:
- I was impressed, it's a band I know little, but they hold well and the show they put everyone to dance.
With over nine years on the road, this was the first time the band faced the stage in the south. The band consists of Tuto Ferraz on drums and vocals, Jota Erre on percussion and vocals, Leonardo Mendez on guitar, and DJ Rick Dub, with rap vocals, percussion and virtual effects on music. - Clic RBS - Floripa Tem

"Grooveria"

With the support of people like Claudio Zoli, Jair Oliveira, Paula Lima, Max de Castro, Max Viana and Rappin'Hood, the debut disc Grooveria resembles a giant jam session represented faithfully in rewrites for When Doves Cry and What Clothes , originally from Santa Rosa. Not surprisingly the band was born from a series of jams at the same stage of the Forest. A mix of black music with MPB already made the head of the new generation of Brazilian music, just listen to FM programming from New to realize that the medallions are losing ground to the new MPB.

Led by Tuto Ferraz, Groove features musicians known to the night clubs. The work, produced by the Tuto can keep the soul of jams, allowing the listener to travel between the arrangements very well constructed, making the vocal work function as a separate instrument, also merit Tuto, responsible for the vocals along with Alexandre Grooves and Marcelo Lima, in addition to several guests. The letters, perhaps the theme of the project remain in the background, acting under the truck loops, guitar riffs, bass lines and excellent arrangements of drums, justified when we remember the spirit of jams sessions: a gathering of musician friends playing without a pre-defined logic.

Bad? No way, if you already know the work of Grooveria will get hitched this CD, the band met through the flexi not know what you're missing, send the guys live very well.
