GrowYoung

Believe it or not, GrowYoung started out as a rap rock band with Kevin and his sister Shannen, Hayley Brownell, and two other friends, but realized they were destined to be an indie alternative band as their bassist parted ways due to college and their rapper moved on to work on a solo project. While Kevin and Shannen were watching Tune-Yards in Arizona, they called Nick Medina and asked him to jam with the them and GrowYoung finally found the perfect mesh and began to progress as an indie alternative band. GrowYoung's first show was in their home studio and drew a crowd of 100 people. Ever since then, they've been asked to play many house shows, benefit shows, and are currently recording their full album to be released in summer of 2012. Highly influenced by MuteMath, Local Natives, Anberlin, and GroupLove, GrowYoung focuses on strong harmonies, contains members with versatile talents, and showcases each member as equal rather than one being the lead figure of the band.
