"Album review: Wonderland"

"Brilliant with cool and brute guitars added with Lemmy vocal. This mix of rock 'n' roll metal added a shot of boogie woogie gives you so much joy and zest for life."

9/10 - Ole Alvor, Metalized Magazine

"Album review: Wonderland"

"Wonderland is simply suffused by authentic joy and will, which is strongly contagious and addictive. The record is full of memorable hooks, riffs and pieces of melody, big heart, winning personality and charm."

4/6 - Kodi, GFRock

"Album review: Wonderland"

"The melodies are catchy and there are several good hooks and riffs scattered on the album. Simultaneously the band and album are bubbbeling of a hugh energy as they also show when playing live. It's party time!!"

4½ / 6 - Calle, Calles Rock Corner

"Album review: Wonderland"

"You can't keep a good band down," som gamle Uriah Heep gjorde opmærksom på allerede engang i 70'erne.

4/6 - Steffen Jungersen, SteffenJungersen.dk

"EP review: 666 RPM"

"Volbeat now has a real rival as Denmark’s best metal/rock band, though to be honest every rock ‘n’ roll band in the world had better watch out as Grumpynators is coming to challenge their status and they do not accept no as a response."

10/10 - Ringmaster

Bio

The style is Hard Rock with elements from Metal, Punk and Billy-genres.

Inspired by Motörhead, AC/DC, Social Distortion, Metallica, Johnny Cash, Volbeat, Ramones, Nekromantix and a hell of a lot more.

GRUMPYNATORS was founded in January 2011 in Copenhagen by former bandmembers and crew from TAGGY TONES and VOLBEAT. The style is Hardrock with elements from Metal, Punk and Billy genres. One of the key elements is Double Bass, which makes both the looks and sounds special.

First Gig: 6th of August 2011 at underground festival Barnyard Rumble in Denmark. Since then there has been several gigs and also support acts for famous danish rock band MAGTENS KORRIDORER on their spring tour in 2012. In February 2013 GRUMPYNATORS supported VOLBEAT on the entire 'Fisrt Five'-tour. Since then they have played in both Denmark, Sweden and Germany.

In december 2011, the demo EP 'Grumpynators' with 5 songs was released (available online). In february 2013 the next EP '666 RPM' was released on Itunes, Spotify, Wimp and TDC play.
In summer 2014 GRUMPYNATORS signed with TARGET RECORDS, and the single 'The Stalker' was released on various electronic medias. In 2015 the first full lenght studio album 'Wonderland' was released on CD, LP, Itunes, Spotify and Wimp.

Grumpynators consists of four band members: Emil Øelund (vocal/guitar), Per Fisker (drums/vocal), Jakob Øelund (doublebass) and Christian Nørgaard (lead guitar). Jakob and Emil used to play together in the danish rockabilly band Taggy Tones. Jakob has also played the Double bass - both live and on studio albums - on thesongs “16 dollars” and “Lonesome Rider” by VOLBEAT. Christian used to tour with VOLBEAT as acoustic guitarist and guitar technician, while Per has a background as drummer in the 90’s heavy metal band JACKAL.

The guys met the first time through a couple of VOLBEAT concerts in 2008, where the Taggy Tones played as support. In 2010 Jakob Øelund played the doublebass on VOLBEAT’s “16 Dollars” from the studioalbum “Beyond Hell / Above Heaven”, and this might have been the time where the concept Metalbilly came to Denmark.
In 2011 Christian, Emil and Jakob decided to try out this new thing with a cross-over between Metal and Rockabilly, and GRUMPYNATORS was born.
