"Lord Byng Secondary School"

Wow!
They were very, very good! The kids loved them. The bass player had all our band bass players' jaws dropping. His left hand looked like it was hardly touching the strings, and his feel just bounced along. I think we'd be interested in having them back again, and possibly doing workshops with the kids. Worth the money! Thanks!

"Golden District Arts Council"

We had them here in Golden for school shows and big Friday night show last night – about 230 in attendance – and the audience ate them up. Great charisma with beautiful, gorgeous four-part harmonies with a sensuous romantic quality to everything they did….the CD table was flocked at intermission and afterwards.

"Kerrisdale Elementary School"

Our students and staff responded with enthusiasm to the high-spirited performance. The program was well paced and appealed equally to students from kindergarten to Grade 7. The energy of the performers, at one point, had all 570 students on their feet dancing. Brisas del Palmar provided an opportunity for students to hear Cuban music and appreciate the sounds of other cultures. The talented musicians showed that the language of music is bohter joyful and universal.

"Sell-out crowds at the Dream Cafe"

The Cuban quartet Brisas del Palmar gave two beguiling evenings to sell-out crowds at the new Dream Cafe last week. The voices created musical magic with their harmonies as they played and sang boleros, son music and ballads from the eastern part of the island. The four musicians originate from Santiago de Cuba and are on their second tour of Canada.
Some of the most beautiful melodies in a remarkable evening were Siboney by Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona, Guantanamera, of course, and an a capella version of Perfidia. Provoking extra applause was Yordanis with his extradinary breath control. Brisas del Palmar will be back to entertain at the Gala Dinner of the Senior Games.

"Performance at the Christ Church Anglican's Centennial Hall"

The Hall was packed with music lovers who appreciated the group's soothing harmonies in a mixture of the traditional 'bolero' and 'son' styles of Eastern Cuba. - Cranbrook Daily Townsman, August 24, 2004

"Salmon Arm, BC October 21, 2006"

There I was in the 2nd row at that marvelous concert given to us by Brisas del Palmar. What a gift you brought to us! I have heard much music over the years and this was a true thrill: the lovely timbre of the voices (from forte to pianissimo) and the instruments!
