Grupo Ayé has just released theirfirst CD, Guajiro del Corazon.
Within the first month of it's release it has sold to Asia, Italy, Colombia, France, England and the USA. This is a very exciting project that was the brainchild of the band manager, Robert Mulligan
The CD features Original music as well as some great latin standards such as Quimbara and Lagrimas Negras. The CD can be auditioned at itunes or CDBaby.

Grupo Ayé was formed just over two years ago by Robert Mulligan one of the most sought-after percussionists/educators in the Midwest. His career includes performing and/or recording with some of the top Latin, Jazz and Pop musicians in mid-America, including Marcos Cavalcante, Steve Talaga, Andrew Lázaro's Caribe Breeze, Aretha Franklin, Juan Daniel Castro, Orquesta Sabrosa, Orquesta Ritmo, Tumbao Bravo, Terry Lower and many others. When he arrived in Grand Rapids, Michigan he discovered that there were very few salsa or Latin jazz groups to be found. So, over the course of a few years while working with other bands and getting to know the music community in his new home, he hand picked 9 musicians and formed Grupo Ayé.
Grupo Ayé plays original music as well as some Latin covers. However, no matter what the song is they always apply their own stylistic touch that is AYÉ.
They play a combination of Cuban Timba, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Latin Jazz that will get you on your feet dancing in seconds. Don't miss this new electrifying 10 piece Latin orchestra, GRUPO AYÉ.
